Found this to be a huge bummer, one of the most important film artists of the 20th century utterly losing the thread of what a utopia might mean in our current moment and becoming utterly subsumed by the worst aspects that shooting digital and filling the world with CGI offers. Remarkably shambolic in its form and without much of the reflexivity of what would mark a great work of late style either, the campy kitsch of it can only get you so far. Where's the ion? Where's the synthesis of form and content? Eh
