I like to watch movies sometimes

I'll go watch a Tom Cruise movie whenever one comes out because I know it'll be thrilling from front to back. He's truly one of the last people to fully embrace live action stunts on such an epic scale, in an industry that gravitates more and more towards computer generated equivalents. But the fact of the matter is they're not equivalents which is why what he does is special.
My only real complaint about this movie is that the cinematography is not very consistent. There are some very cool shots that definintely show that the creative team is thinking outside the box, yet they are interspersed among shots that are just ... average. That being said, the humor was on point and it definitely pushes the envelop of the increasingly generic super hero genre (even if it wasn't as daring as I'd hoped).
Lots of double-crossing and a great atmosphere combine to make a film that's enjoyable to watch from start to finish. In many ways, it seems that Steven Soderbergh was trying to capture the save vibe as the "Oceans" franchise, complete with a star-studded cast and a heist to boot. While on first viewing it doesn't quite measure up to the coolness of his other films, the decidedly spooky direction he runs with provides a fresh perspective on the more glamorous version of the heist genre. And as always, almost every scene is excellently punctuated by the (I would say trademark) bass of David Holmes.
