Usually I'm not a big fan of national history biopics, but I really enjoy this film. Mainly because its ability to highlight Gie's struggle of idealism from a personal point of view. It's easier to relate with, and most importantly it's not a history textbook film; you can see that the intention is not to fill in between the lines of the textbook but to exist as a movie of itself without violating the actual events.
