Icl was expecting this to be much better but was kind of a miss for me.
I found myself just asking “why”. Like why were the predators just there ready for these 3 people?? Idk maybe I’m missing something but found this a bit mid.
I love predator movies normally, even when they are a bit moody, but this didn’t hit for me. It’s not bad but it’s just a bit mid imo
Watched this on my iPad on the flight so can never be a 10/10 experience.
]]>No better day than today to watch this movie!
Serious classic and I’m a sucker for a slasher, especially any of the “big 3” (Friday, nightmare, or Halloween)
Some seriously underrated cinematography in this, especially all the shots of the lakes and the reflections 👌🏻
Made on a tiny budget and it’s still a banger. Obvs some moody scenes that maybe haven’t aged that well, but all in all with what they had available to them, they made a great iconic slasher and had some class practical effects and makeup etc.
Another weird one to say, but childhood classic for me. Probs watched this for the first time when I was like 10🤣
Desperate to see the 4k remaster as well.
]]>I love cinema !!!
Quite a messy review, but I suppose that’s quite fitting as the movie feels a bit like a messy masterpiece. Deffo feel quite scrambled after watching this, but I did really enjoy it. Strange but enjoyable movie watching experience. A peculiar love letter to old Hollywood, movie making, and everything industry related from the 1920s-30s.
Didn’t expect to see Tobey Maguire in this, really caught me off guard. Serious nightmare fuel. This whole film was so strange and messy but that’s what was also good about it imo. I know it’s quite a divisive or controversial movie, but I lowkey rated it. There is definitely a lot going on, but I feel like that adds to the madness of the times and how incredibly overwhelming, messy, and mental it was back then.
It’s kind of 3 movies in one. I understand why this wasn’t that successful, especially after La La Land, but this was still a very interesting and kind of fun movie.
Very ambitious and from what I’ve gathered, I think I see it as a sort of ‘love letter’ to old Hollywood and movie making. Interesting seeing the shift from silent movies to movies we know today. So innovative but something I don’t often think about, which is nice this movie brought that up for me.
Some phenomenal film making, crazy good camera work, and smashing performances all round. You really feel the personal pressure and stress these characters are under throughout. Chazelle loves a good sunset as well.
I loved the downfall of all the characters, but I particularly liked Brad Pitts character change/shift throughout the movie. I liked how he went from the top of the game, to slowly falling down the popularity ladder. Stardom to irrelevant and depressed. Very realistic.
Margot Robbie is of course very talented, and Diego Calva was brilliant.
Sidney Palmer man! 😔
Great ending. Very smart. The pictures are for everyone to enjoy!
]]>Obviously this is the biggest load of shit ever and 2 stars is definitely overly generous. But I used to watch this a lot as a kid and part of me likes how shit it is. I can acknowledge everything is pretty much god awful about this. But I do view this as a comedy and it makes me laugh a lot.
Hilariously shit but I’ll always enjoy all the Friday the 13th movies.
To put it into perspective, Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring was released in the same year… I love cinema. 🤣
]]>Unfortunately not as good as the first one. Pretty moody but I suppose it could’ve been worse.
Same ol’ straight to streamin’ shit 💩
Feel like this one was trying to do a bit too much, and a lot of it was predictable. Felt slow at the start, then rushed towards the end.
]]>Classic. Can’t hate this if you grew up watching it. Serious childhood memories unlocked every time.
]]>Another one that I studied in school. Real classic piece of cinema. Written numerous essays on this and dissected the film scene by scene.
Brilliant that they actually spent time in a real hospital to understand the mannerisms and actions etc of real patients. Gives it such an authentic feel.
Hilarious but devastating. Theres a lot of themes throughout and they all work really well.
Incredible movie from start to finish.
]]>What a movie!
I had to watch & analyse this in film studies back in school, and I always knew it was a “good film” based on the IMDb score. But I never truly appreciated it for what it was. I think that was because I had to re watch the same scenes over and over and dissect, analyse, and explain them.
It’s been about 4-5 years since I’ve watched this, and I definitely needed that time. Ever since I watched it in school I liked it, but now I really understand and appreciate the levels of film making and story telling here.
Top tier and I probs know more than I should about this film🤣.
]]>Not typically my sort of movie, but I couldn’t deny watching this after seeing the crazy high reviews.
I really love these sort of movies where you can pause any and every shot and it looks like a photo or painting. (Barry Lyndon etc)
So incredibly well made. Every frame is beautiful. One of those movies where the whole thing is a work of art. And I really appreciate and respect that.
Gotta be open to expand the movie knowledge always.
🖼️🔥
]]>Cinema!
One of my all time favourites.
Love the cast, and Javier Bardem is just so menacing. Great performances all round, a fantastic story, and some of the best cinematography ever. Definitely deserved its 4 Oscar Wins.
]]>Wow. What a movie. The last 30 mins especially. Serious tension building throughout,
Big up Jeremy Renner!
]]>A beautiful and powerful coming of age movie with a great message behind it.
]]>Pretty impressive performance from Sandler. This & Uncut Gems are surely his most respected movies (from what I’ve seen)
Gotta make sure to watch all the PTA movies before his new release later this year.
]]>Another one that I really didn’t know what to expect, and shittt this was another anxiety fuelled film🤣. Tbh it’s much darker than I expected it to be.
A pretty decent coming of age movie. Can really understand why this made Tom Cruise a star. 😎
]]>A pretty solid & well made movie.
Loved John Travolta but found that Sally to be jarring af🤣.
Some great technical elements, especially the sound and how that links with his character. Very smart.
Great ending though, thought that was class how they used the scream for the movie.
Brian De Palma loves a train station scene fr.
]]>In my head this was not as good as everyone was making it out to be but this was actually bang on. It’s been a few years since I’ve seen it, and I can totally understand why it’s so rated and respected.
The practical effects are way beyond its time and the movie as a whole holds up really well. The colour schemes are beautiful throughout, with the blue, white and purples. And then the orange from the flames.
ittedly one scene made me jump which hasn’t hasn’t to me in a while (the testing blood scene) - I knew it was coming but forgot who was “the Thing” and it caught me off guard🤣.
Classic horror. Torn between a 4 and a 4.5 atm 🤷♂️
]]>Phenomenal filmmaking. Great story, exceptional effects & I see a lot of Dune / Dune Part 2 in this. Can really see his creative vision coming to life. So visually stunning.
Loved it. Beautiful movie.
Another one I’m embarrassed that I hadn’t seen before 🤦♂️
Wonder if Harrison Ford actually wanted to do this movie or if he just couldn’t turn down the money?🤣
]]>*Secret Screaming* - Cineworld
My interpretations of the movie:
- Sharks are misunderstood man &
- Be cautious of every stranger as they might try kidnap you and feed you to sharks and film it and watch it whilst they eat dinner. &
- Baby Shark is probs the best and worst thing about this movie. (Not sure how that makes sense but it just does)
#Australia.
Boomerang from Suicide Squad must struggle to keep his business alive if every customer gets killed. Didn’t see him steal a single wallet! A humble killer
]]>Okay yes this was insanely good. I’m pretty embarrassed that I hadn’t seen this 😳.
Instant 5 star rating from me. Will 100% be re watching this. Need to see this in the BFI imax asap🤣.
Buzzing for F1 now (which I’m seeing in BFI imax)🙏🙏
]]>Visually stunning with some great cinematography/shots. As much as it’s rainy and moody, everything looks quite beautiful and well designed. A lot of style.
Great mix of sci-fi and noir.
Idk why I put this one off for so long, gonna try watch 2049 soon.
]]>No, yer crazy.
Very peculiar.
Incredible performances tho
]]>Another one I went into knowing absolutely nothing, and this was brilliant. Basically all shot in one location which was cool. A proper stressful anxiety ridden movie. One big panic attack. The Jewish uncut gems!🤣
Incredibly well paced and a great runtime.
Loved the eerie horror music, really helps build the tension.
Rachel Sennot & Molly Gordon are brilliant ofc.
]]>Ermmm yeah revenge.
]]>My whole movie watching career I thought this film was called “Interview With A Vampire” not “the”. Well & truly baffled.
Even had to go and check an old dvd copy to make sure they hadn’t changed it🤣.
]]>They just don’t make ‘em like this anymore.
]]>One I’ve been meaning to watch for yearrsssss. And now I’m going through the Tom Cruise movies it felt like the right time.
A very enjoyable & well-paced action/thriller. Love Tom Cruise as the kind of ‘villain’ - he just plays all his roles so well. Great actor
And Michael Mann sure can direct a great action flick. Think he takes pride in the fact that anytime a gun is fired in his movies that it’s the loudest of almost any movie ever (except Warfare)🤣🤣. Heat has to take the #1 spot for that.
Loved the concept and I’m glad I’ve watched it. Definitely worse movies to watch 👍
]]>Went into this knowing absolutely nothing and I feel pretty blown away by this icl. What a crazy mind-bending movie. This is incredibly underrated, no idea how it’s a 6.9/10 on imdb!!
Had me guessing right until the twist. This is 100% something I’ll be rewatching.
Wow.
Think it might be a Tom Cruise week for me🤣
*also loved the Bob Dylan reference.
]]>I don’t think I’ve ever done this before, but I did a back2back viewing in the cinema. But this time in IMAX. And it was 100% a better experience. I think I only wanna watch movies in IMAX now🤣🤣.
All the sequences just felt so much better and for some reason it didn’t feel like a 2 hour 40 movie this time. The submarine and plane scenes were just top tier.
Interested to see how much money this makes!
Loved it and I’m glad I caught this in IMAX.
]]>Hell yeah!
Thoroughly enjoyed this, and thought it was a great end to the franchise (allegedly). Plays on all the Mission Impossible tropes and cliches well and I had no problem with that.
Favourite part was deffo the whole submarine segment, thought that just insane. But I love and appreciate all the stunts and hard work that goes into making these movies. Greatness on the big screen!
I also like how it’s become pretty self aware but they’re just running with it and I love that 🤣
Such an authentic action block buster and it was nice to see a fully booked cinema 🎦
Obvs there are a few aspects that I didn’t like as much or things that I wanted to see, but I’m still happy with the end result.
#LuxeRecliners😎
Officially ready for tomorrow’s viewing of “The Final Reckoning” and I’m definitely looking forward to it.
Gotta love Tom Cruise!
As much as I’ve rated this a 3.5/5 ⭐️ again, it was deffo better than i and the long run time didn’t really drag at all.
]]>Yeah idk how to review this. Standard 2000s horror sequel.
Intro is haunting tho and sticks with you for life🤣. Never get behind anything like that on the motorway 🛣️
]]>This is Michael Cera’s film! He is the stand out performance and out shines everyone imo.
Not as enjoyable as other Wes movies, but still a good addition to his filmography.
Top tier attention to detail and camera work, maybe a bit tedious for some, but watch with an open mind and I’m sure you’ll have some fun with this.
Not too sure about the story as a whole, like what actually was it? But yeah it was fine
Would’ve enjoyed it more if the Cineworld Air Con hadn’t broke and I wasn’t in a sweat box of a room.
]]>Can’t believe this is 25 years old.
A pretty interesting and original idea, will potentially watch the rest over the next few weeks 🤷♂️
]]>Don’t ask.. needed some brain rot after work today🤣.
Moody af but a laugh. Can’t believe this shit nearly made a billion 🤣🤣
Somehow still not the worst film I’ve seen this year.
]]>I think this has gotta be the best one. Good pacing, great action sequences, and some terrific stunts.
Looks so clean and clear on 4k as well. Love the IMAX enhanced sequences.
6th movie in a franchise and it’s probably the best one ☝️
Love watching a movie after finding out the twist, makes you watch it from such a different perspective.
]]>Preparation for Final Reckoning!
The stunts are just so good, tbh the stunts alone make these movies worth watching.
Good ol’ Tom Cruise 🚢
]]>*Extended Cut
Classic that I’ve seen plenty of times.
Every time I watch the trilogy I change my mind on the order of “best to worst”
I think this used to be my favourite, but on this watch I think I enjoyed the first 2 more 🤷♂️
Will re visit sometime in the next 365 🗓️
]]>Top tier cinema experience. My first time at the BFI IMAX and it did not disappoint.
Childhood classic. watching this in cinema when it came out.
Think it’ll be a mission impossible week now in preparation for the Final Reckoning!
The Burj Khalifa scene is just phenomenal.
]]>Classic 🦊
One that I’ve seen multiple times and can never really get bored of. Gotta be one of his best movies. Extremely creative and I’d never really seen anything like it, especially when I first watched it years ago when it was released.
Perfect runtime for a week night movie as well.
Just need to watch Asteroid City then I’m fully caught up on the Wes Anderson movies ahead of the new one.
]]>Best feeling when you go to the cinema expecting something to be a little bit pony but it was actually class.
Such a good “shitter”
It has no right being so enjoyable and funny, but it was.
Fantastic deaths - as to be expected with a Final Destination movie. But for a 6th instalment this was pretty good and I’m glad I rushed off after work to go and watch it.
100% a cinema movie. Deffo won’t be as good watching at home for the first time.
Need to re watch the first 5 now🤣
]]>So much better than I was expecting. Was lowkey thinking this was gonna be moody, but I actually had a lot of fun and really enjoyed it.
Can deffo see this becoming smth I’d re watch, along with the rest of Wes’ filmography.
Class director and I’m glad I gave his movies a chance. Loved the animation style in this and thought everything looked really good. Incredibly well made (as per usual for every Wes movie)
Really looking forward to “The Phoenician Scheme”
]]>A great directorial debut. Owen & Luke Wilson are brilliant.
You can really see his vision and I can now see how he wanted to develop his style now having seen his other movies.
Nice light hearted comedy. Chill Monday Eve viewing.
Nearly seen all the Wes movies now, only 2 left.
]]>Wonderful piece of art.
Phenomenal cast.
Extremely well written and a great story.
Deffo in my top 3 favourite Wes Anderson movies.
Nice chill Sunday evening picture.
]]>X rated Challengers ?
Crazy to think this guy directed Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and as his next film. This then HP. Crazy🤣🤣
Torn between a 4/5 ⭐️ and a 4.5/5 ⭐️
]]>I think this review is gonna be a bit messy and all over the place as I’m finding it hard to collect my thoughts.
But now I’ve seen quite a lot of Malicks work, I’ve started to understand his process and the way he makes his films. And it’s incredibly unique and different to anything I’ve ever seen. He’s a crazy visionary who just makes whatever he wants and you gotta respect that. Donny just cuts Sean Penn out the film and has some shots of him walking around and looking confused. Apparently they could make another full length movie with the amount of S.Ps cut scenes🥲
This is a hard one to review or rate. As per usual with him, the film is visually stunning. Every shot is perfection & the way the camera is used to capture a scene is just phenomenal. A lot of “meaningful abstract shots” but it works (kind of)
I definitely liked this and respect it, but I don’t think I enjoyed it how I was hoping or expecting too. It lacks dialogue (similarly to his other movies) and continuity. Like it could almost feel a bit messier than his other movies, but I know he’s got some mad method of editing and re writing his scripts, so maybe it’s just me who doesn’t fully get it🤣.
I personally like to view his films as a work of art. (I know all films are art) but this is just beautifully shot and thought provoking in such a different way to other films. It’s incredibly hard to describe and I assume he does that on purpose. It almost feels as if there isn’t really a beginning, middle, or end.
Meh idk I feel as if this is gonna be on my mind for the next week or two tryna figure out my exact thoughts on it. And idk if I ever will😂.
A powerful movie in a subtle and spiritual way. It’s so hard to think of the words to describe this. I think it’ll be a love it or hate it type flick for most.
Can I even rate this??! 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ I think I’ll have to re watch this one day.
]]>Maybe I’m becoming a Wes Anderson fan because I’m really enjoying his movies atm.
From what I’ve seen so far he manages to blend comedy with dramatic moments really well.
Proper comfort movie vibes and very relaxing. Was definitely well needed after watching “Uncut Gems”
I also love his loyalty to his actors and that he always works with the same people throughout his career, just shows that he’s probably a cool guy and people respect his creative vision.
Very quirky and whacky characters with that nice Wes Anderson style, which I’m assuming he really found with this film. (I need to watch Bottle Rocket)
Very well written, acted, and directed ✅
]]>Holy fucking shit this is the most intense film I’ve ever seen in my life. This feels like a fat line of chang
This is pure anxiety and nightmare fuel. I loved it and hated it at the same time. I struggled to watch it but couldn’t stop watching it. It’s so conflicting.
So overwhelming and overstimulating. This shit had my heart beating rapid.
The best acting, role, and performance of Adam Sandlers career. Holy shit he can actually act?!??🤣 was actually really emotionally invested in his character, and was nearly shouting at the Tv when he placed that last bet and was handing the cash out the window 🤦♂️
A stressful, adrenaline filled, rollercoaster of a movie that I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to re watch.
It’s an incredibly tough watch. But it’s so good & extremely original and well made.
Jaw dropping ending, I was absolutely gob smacked.
]]>Lucky enough to catch this in cinema as my first time watch for this. And it’s my favourite Wes Anderson movie that I’ve seen so far.
Everything was spot on from the cast, performances, story, script etc.
Haven’t got a bad word to say about this, and I’ll deffo be buying the Criterion Blu Ray.
One of the best cinema experiences I’ve had in ages
]]>Uma Thurman 🔥
Back 2 back bangers.
Can’t ever watch one without the other.
Would love to see a Tarantino in the cinema (only ever seen once upon a time) - need some cinema re releases!
Watched both of these at a very young age so might be wrong of me to say childhood classics, but it’s true 🏆
Deffo gonna be in a bit of a Tarantino mood for a while now, one of those directors where you gotta re watch his movies like once a year 🐐
]]>Yeah.. I love Kill Bill.
I’m gonna stop being as stingy with the 5 stars from now on. For me almost every Tarantino is a 5 star (bar the obvious couple)
Love this from start to finish. That last 30 mins as well is truly phenomenal.
The perfect run time as well, this flew by.
One of the greatest directors of all time. Will be watching Vol.2 again asap.
*also watched this on 4k blu ray for the first time, and the sound was deffo one of the best parts. That’s had a major increase. The transfer was also good (not the best I’ve seen) but it was still noticeable. Nice and bright, and all of the colours looked beautiful.

After the top 40 I’d say they’re all pretty equal for me. It changes a lot and there’s deffo some I’ve forgot about. But I’d say this is a pretty close list 👍
