I honestly was not that excited going into this movie, but I sure did enjoy it. Despite the run time, this film flies by, and needed every minute to tell this whole story. How else are you going to show how long a 24 hour race is? I definitely think this is one of those movies that needs to be seen in theaters. Quite literally Heat in the 80s plus more synth. I had always heard LA Takedown later became Heat, but I never knew it's the exact same plot, minus the ending. The dirty, gritty 80s look makes it an entirely different experience though, and the only thing I found legitimately worse than it's succesor is the big shootout. For an 80s TV movie, this was really enjoyable.
