Thank you Cassian Andor!!!!
I mean, what is there to be said about this movie that hasn’t been said? Nothing. It truly is incredible. A masterclass in pacing, this film truly never wastes a second. Beautifully simple, incredibly tense. Alec Guinness and Harrison Ford are next level.
Also, there aren’t enough aliens in modern Star Wars. The sequel trilogy really lacks cool looking fellas from different planets compared to this.
]]>Continuing my chronological rewatch of Star Wars. Finished up Andor (late to the party) which was absolutely perfect and some of the best TV I’ve ever seen.
Unfortunately, it didn’t help to elevate this. Cassian takes a back seat in this film, it’s not a very satisfying final arc of Andor. He’s hardly a character. In fact, most people in this film are hardly characters. It’s a real shame, this is very well directed.
The first half of the film is quite boring, the pacing makes no sense and there are some very stupid cameos. Not to mention the gross CGI’d versions of Peter Cushing and Carrie Fisher.
I will say, the final act of the movie is superb, it almost does enough to trick me into thinking this film is great. Cassian’s fate certainly packs an extra punch after watching the show.
]]>Watched this through an unconventional platform, if you catch my drift. Fuck JK Rowling.
It’s crazy how much better this movie is than the others. They have their moments and none of them are bad movies, but Cuarón cooked with this one. Best looking film of the saga, the world feels extremely lived-in, and great performances. Still a treat. I can stomach the films knowing how many good people worked on putting them together, idk. It’s not just from the mind of that hag.
]]>Good ass movie man
]]>Certainly better than I ed, but that’s not saying much. Last act could have been much better

Star Wars was my childhood. When I was young, I was constantly watching it, reading about it, watching YouTube videos about it. But Disney turning it into a slop machine really killed my love for it, I can’t lie. Kenobi was the last straw, I hadn’t watched a Star Wars film or show since then. Not even Andor. But I have COVID currently, so what better time to go back to that world? I’ve never watched it all in chronological order before.
Anyway, this movie is not THAT bad. Suffers from all the issues of the prequels: poor dialogue, flat characters, and the humor is REALLY bad. However, Qui-Gon Jinn is one of the more appealing characters in Star Wars and Liam Neeson did a great job bringing him to life. The visuals are honestly pretty good, and it feels a lot more like the OT than I . And of course, the score is unbelievable and Duel of the Fates is one of the most well choreographed fight sequences ever. The Clone Wars helped to flesh out all of the prequel characters, but it did the best service to Darth Maul. It’s a shame he didn’t get more screen time in this film, and it would’ve been cool if he appeared in the next film(s), as cool as Count Dooku is.
]]>5/26/25 plane movie #3
Amazing, amazing trilogy. Just a beautiful story about love. Isn’t love amazing?? I want to be like Samwise Gamgee when I grow up. I must say, this is probably my least favorite of the three movies, but it’s a series that lives up to the hype. And I’m not a Tolkien guy either.
]]>5/26/25 plane movie #2
I’m not a prequel revisionist by any means. TPM and AOTC are horrible movies (heavy on AOTC). But Revenge of the Sith is good stuff. It’s a little shaky for me in the first half or so, same issues the rest of the prequels have. Bad dialogue, rough performances, etc. But the scene where Anakin is sitting in the Jedi council room just before he turns, with shots of Pe + the music flowing. Reallyyy well done. And from that point on the film is genuinely very good and extremely moving. George stuck the landing.
]]>5/26/25 plane movie #1
I’ve seen this movie so, so many times. It doesn’t matter, hits just as hard every time. Just an unbelievably good movie in every facet, but the score man. The score is amazing.
]]>What a beautiful show man. The first time I watched this I was in college, and in a relationship. Now, I’m in sort of an in-between period of my life. That, coupled with feeling very single and lonely was a different experience watching the show. It added an almost devastating relatability for me to these two characters as we see them float through life, trying to find peace, joy, purpose, and of course, each other.
This show is just so unbelievably moving, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal are so terrific. After seeing Gladiator a few months ago, it was a breath of fresh air to see Mescal back in his comfort zone. This is where he’s meant to be. Edgar-Jones plays this role in such a delicate way, a character that I feel so much fondness and empathy for.
The first time I watched this show, I got sucked in. Finishing it within 2-3 days. My second time around, the exact same thing happened. It’s the best of the best. It’s so easy to fall in love with these characters, desperate to learn more about them and explore their dynamic further. I adore this series.

]]>My god, what a movie. An absolute gut punch. The kind of film that resonates with you in ways you can’t really describe. I felt like crying in the last act, but I felt frozen. To feel like you can never truly be yourself, I can’t even imagine. There is still time.
]]>Well damn, this was not very good!! This director and lead actor combination is a dream for me, I was so, so excited. But it was just such a slog! I get what it’s going for, I want Trump to *** too, trust me. But the satire was laid on sooo thick. And frankly, it’s boring. The comedy just rarely lands. Mark Ruffalo is genuinely awful. I think the film might work a lot better if he wasn’t in it. Whether it be a different actor, or his character just scrapped altogether and replaced with just Toni Collette (who’s great as always). I hate to compare to previous Bong Joon-Ho films because it’s largely a pointless exercise, but damn man I know you can do satire better than this. I know you’re funnier than this! I know you can pack more of an emotional punch! I was in it for the first 30-45 minutes or so, Pattinson is quite good, as usual. It just feels like missed opportunity. Could have been funnier, could have been sexier. There were some good moments, absolutely. But man, it really just doesn’t work. It’s a shame.
]]>Mixed bag for me, but I liked it! Kieran Culkin is such a unique actor, and he obviously killed it. I think his dynamic with Eisenberg also works quite well. I wasn’t necessarily a fan of the sarcastic, witty stabs at comedy, and there were times where the dialogue wasn’t particularly organic. Eisenberg’s themes and messages of the film are no secret, he sort of beats you over the head with it. Not much subtlety or depth to the most emotional bits, but damn it definitely had its moments. Definitely one that I’m down to rewatch at some point. Impressed by Eisenberg for sure!
]]>Josh Hartnett was having the time of his life bro lmfao
]]>Horrific, stomach-wrenching, and depressing film. Some of the most vile and evil things you could imagine, captured perfectly. Every time you see an IDF soldier or a settler you are certain you’re about to watch somebody die. Incredibly powerful and important film that left me depressed and filled with anger.
Free Palestine. From the river to the sea
]]>Maybe I’m a white suburban mom at heart because whewww I really like this movie
]]>Idk theres really not much to say here, pretty boring!
]]>Missed this one last Christmas season, so here I am. Terrific film. Extremely warm and charming. Perfectly cast, beautifully shot. I fell in love with the main trio pretty much immediately. Definitely staying in the holiday rotation for me.
]]>Banger
]]>Extremely well-done in every facet. Haunting, heavy, but well worth the time.
]]>Game Night 2 please
]]>Just absolutely brilliant. Tender, funny, well-acted. Greta is one of the best.
]]>Geena Davis
]]>DIDDY?????
]]>Jesus Christ man.
Formulaic, sure. Not especially cohesive, sure. But absolutely still HITS.
]]>Late to the party, I know. But based on what I had heard I did not expect to like this. Oh my god, it's so much fucking worse than I could have imagined. I’m usually not this harsh on movies but I’ve had a bad week and this pissed me offff sooo bad.
Absolutely irredeemable and deeply evil movie. Like Jacob Elordi isn't bad? Did not enjoy Keoghan's performance. The "cinematography" that I heard so much praise did not add anything to the movie other than some pretty scenes so that people can post screenshots of them to Twitter. But they're still soulless, artless, and add nothing of value to the storytelling of the film.
Random scenes that are there to shock you and catch you by surprise but instead you're just like "wowwww ok that's so cool and crazy of you guys!!!" and move on. The "twist" ending isn't a twist at all? It's just exactly what the movie has told you throughout its runtime!! He's a weirdo! He lies about his family, he has weird period sex with the girl, licks cum out of the drain of the bathtub, gives a weird rapey handjob to the other guy. Like yeah, this guy is messed up, why the fuck are you treating it like a twist?
And what is the message? That the twisted, evil middle class (and also the only Black person in the film) will stop at nothing to terrorize and and take advantage of these poor helpless rich people who are so kind 🥺🥺🥺? Because it sure as hell seems like that's what the message was! It's absolutely insane to be this bad at filmmaking. How do you make the wrong narrative decision at every turn? How are you so obvious and heavy-handed in your filmmaking? How in the world was this terribly made fascist movie so popular lmfao
Rosamund Pike I'm sorry you had to go through this :(( it's not your fault
]]>Extremely cool!
]]>First time being able to see this movie in theaters, great experience. I’ll never get tired of this movie
]]>Pretty enjoyable even with some flaws!! I felt like an imposter watching this without having seen the previous movies. But the apes didn’t mind, they’re still my friends :)
]]>Man, what a debut. Badass, entertaining, and expressive. Incredibly impressive
]]>Exactly as good as you’d think while also having an absolute batshit script
]]>Watched on Sunday March 24, 2024.
]]>Yeah it wasn’t entirely sensical or loyal/consistent with its own rules, but it was very well shot and obviously a cool premise.
]]>It’s exactly what everyone says it is.
]]>Man I wanted to like this more I really did but jeez man they hardly explore the characters at all
]]>Not bad
]]>So good
]]>Staggering in scale, cluttered in execution. Miyazaki does Miyazaki things.
]]>Very good and also seems like a movie that only gets better with each rewatch. I bet in half a year or so I’ll watch it again and like it even more
]]>Fewer great moments but funny and silly too
]]>Some really great moments in this
]]>Amazing. Denis Villeneuve is one of one.
]]>It was fine at the start of the movie but it just got dumber and dumber. Also insane amount of cuts, didn’t let one shot sit for more than 5 seconds. Insane
]]>Bad
]]>Sorry this movie is good, actually
]]>Tom Wambsgans 😲🫵
]]>The film adaptation of this series falls way short of the books, for a lot of reasons. But this movie is solid.
]]>Yeah it’s exactly what you’d expect
]]>How am I supposed to go to sleep with my girlfriend now Jesus Christ
]]>
