My favorite parts of the animated original are the beautiful and vibrant hand-drawn renderings of Hawaii, Stitch's infatuation with Elvis, and Ving Rhames' mysterious and fascinating Cobra Bubbles. This (wildly successful sadly) cash-grab dumbs down all those aspects, softens the family tragedy / separation drama, and seems most interested in serving up physical comedy for the kid demo. It's basically Stitch wreaking havoc on these people's lives but looking cute doing it, and I guess that was a perfect formula for raking in box office.

In a feat of astounding unintentional irony, Brendan Fraser says the word "amazing" like 300 times in this movie. He is the only thing close to "amazing" in a dull mess of film that really just seems like a necessary shell for an Oscar bait performance.
