Very quietly brilliant. Not my style at all (my grandma showed this to me) but man it was way better than I expected. Very moody and quiet but powerful and it narrowly evades the white savior narrative I thought it would have. It’s just a pure love letter to nature and it’s filled with a bitter hatred for capitalism.

Very in your face with its themes like most marvel movies are, but those themes are depression leading to SUICIDE which is just crazy. A lotta really great moments here.

I actually appreciate the simplicity of this more after seeing most other Lynch projects, there’s a more subtle surrealism here that really resonates with me now. I also love Dennis Hopper’s performance.
