There’s lots to love in this movie. Obviously it’s visually stunning and is filled with great performances, specifically Threapleton and Cera, but it all felt quite fragmented and I’d be lying if said I understood what Zsa-Zsa’s ultimate goal was. In the end, as much as I loved a lot of the relationships and general tenor of the movie, it didn’t totally come together for me.

I watched this for the first time last night and was absolutely blown away. Between Robert Mitchum’s charismatic, darkly funny and thoroughly evil performance to the stunning cinematography, this film is a gothic masterpiece.

Listen, should this series have ended with Fallout? Probably. Am I upset that we got two more movies? Not at all. Am I still pissed about a specific death in Dead Reckoning? Absolutely. Will I ever forgive them? Probably not. Does this movie have some truly unbelievable sequences? Yes. Does it shoehorn a bunch of stuff in to pull the whole franchise together? Yup.

Anyway, I had a great time. Everyone involved is trying to make the biggest and most…

Not a terrible film by any means but musical biopics tend to feel like people playing dress-up to me and this film falls into that trap. As good as Timothee is I unfortunately never forgot it was him pretending to be Bob Dylan. Meanwhile, Mangold continues to make above average movies for your dad. In the end it made me want to go home and watch Inside Llewyn Davis again.
