What happens when you pair 1980s X-Men with the animation studio behind G.I. Joe and the Muppet Babies?
Well, this.
(loosely based on Uncanny X-Men issues #129-139)
Also, Wolverine is Australian for some insane reason.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
This 12-episode series blends a number of Wolverine stories together while adding new characters/elements.
Mariko (Uncanny X-Men #118, 1979) of course is the love interest
Shingen and Yukio from the classic Wolverine miniseries (1982) appear
Omega Red?! (1992) stops by to cause some problems
Even Cyclops stops by for a *VERY* brief cameo
Also for whatever reason the yakuza is allied with AIM.
The whole experience is wildly uneven - there are some standout moments, but they are few and far between. Casting Milo Ventimiglia to voice Logan in the English dub was a mistake - he simply doesn't sound tough enough.
Choosing to do a crowdwork special is pretty risky when the crowd is aggressively drunk and crappy. He tried his best.
If you'd like to see crowdwork that crushes from beginning to end, check out Judah Friedlander's special from 2017
