Mitchell Smoothy’s review published on Letterboxd:
Groundhog Day with a Pre-Edge of Tomorrow feeling, Duncan Jones's Source Code is an excellent example of having a fixed environment yet still being able to bring some good old sci-fi thriller hijinks with that Groundhog Day plot point, elevating it against other copies and comparing it to the legendary Groundhog Day is the incorporation nihilistic elements in both protagonist and antagonist with each expressing it through suicidal thoughts and terrorism with the protagonist overcoming it to achieve the impossible, with a happy yet slightly confusing ending Source Code achieves every goal in a film like this whilst also bringing some excellent performances from Jake Gyllenhaal and Vera Farmiga who show a relationship over power with one having all the power whilst the other is powerless thus making their performances even more impactful at the ending, overall Source Code is a great movie to watch for some Jake Gyllenhaal Hijinx and some confusing yet fun Sci-Fi elements.
