Superman (Donner, 1978) B-: Overcomes it's 70s cheese and dates visuals with charm. The first 30minutesis a bit of a wash, Krypton is nothing more then just a set, the visual effects are nothing more then dated screen savers and Brando's nothing more then just a cash grab. Everything settles down once Reeves and Hackman show up on screen. Both have great comic timing, great screen presences. The 2nd Third is the Strongest. Kent Farm is gorgeously lit and Williams' Score is one of his best.
