On my repeat watch of this, the flaws really show. I think the biggest problem is logically this movie doesn’t work, especially the tacked on ending. If it had ended with the freeze frame, that would have worked, the whole premise of the story doesn’t fall apart. By ending it the way they do, the entire premise is ruined, creating more problems than they solve. One universe got a happy ending, a bunch didn’t. Ethically this movie is also extremely problematic and I just feel it does nothing to touch on that. A good movie and enjoyable, definitely worth a watch. In my opinion the Cruise/Blunt Edge of Tomorrow does this kind of sci-fi much better. Still a solid cast keep this watchable, especially Gyllenhaal.
