Also, some of these might not be considered "underrated" but many actor performances still are to me. It's preferable that the actual actor is less recognizable in the role in of standard appearance, but unobscured performances can still make the list depending on certain other attributes and madness criteria.

Qualities may include: well done makeup or costuming that transforms the character, in combination with assumed sanity level of character, etc. Characters with minimal change to actor features can be considered based on quality of the role, but ultimately will be more selective. Based on real-life characters will be held at a minimum unless I feel humbly sold on the performance.
