It's a bit weird that I haven't reviewed this in any way until now, so here goes:

This is my desert island movie. If I could only watch one movie in my life again, it would be this one. It's very feel-good while also showing the dark side of politics, which rings as true today as it did in 1939, not least because of certain, er, recent events in America. Yes, it does go a bit overboard with the patriotism…

There's something so magical watching your favourite band at their peak (if only I had been born then!) My only complaint (except for some poor sound mixing) is that it's so short. I would've loved to see them play something like Heart of the Sunrise or Siberian Khatru, but since the run time is a mere 72 minutes there was only time for about 5 songs 😅. Also, Rick Wakeman in THAT cape is just one of the coolest looks in all of rock. RIP Chris & Alan 💚

I knew it was a religious film because when I saw those gams I went ”Oh, Jesus!”

Never Say Never Again

”Your brother's dead. Keep dancing!"

It shouldn't have been that difficult to make the best Bond film of 1983, but this is so terrible it makes Octopussy look like Goldfinger in comparison. Despite the exotic locations it's also really ugly visually. The only thing even remotely entertaining is Fatima Blush and there is a bizarre scene where she forces Bond to it (in writing) that she is the best shag he's ever had.

Ugh, I honestly just want to forget this even exists. It will not be included in my final ranking of the Bond films.

”You know, you don't have to get mad just because you're so stupid!”

As any dude turning 25, I decided to celebrate my birthday in the best way possible (i.e., by rewatching a favourite Jean Arthur film). This is just a laughfest from start to finish.

At this moment in time, a comedy taking the mickey out of the super-rich feels particularly apt. Before the Wolf of Wall Street, there was the Bull of Broad Street. Jean being totally confused…
