I guess many people consider this movie a litmus or perhaps literacy test. I think that's pretty unfair but it is absolutely true that what the viewer fixates on, agrees or disagrees with, etc. regarding this movie can say a lot about them, especially politically. People simply project this idea that this film wants to be deep so either they themselves feel like they're smart or they can make fun of people who think they are. Either way, both parties come out shallow and can't fathom a simple film about fate.
