No star rating for this one unfortunately. Not a good movie to watch early in the morning. I was feeling quite sleepy.
However, what I really took away and appreciated was the subtext of how Korean history impacts and is reflected in so much of Korean cinema. There’s always been this rage-fueled yet ionate fire burning at the heart of the Korean artistic oeuvre, and I left this movie empathizing with that fire more than ever before.
If you have any interest in theatre, watch this. If you have any interest in Shakespeare, watch this. If you have any interest in teaching, watch this. If you have any interest in art, watch this. Sing Sing is completely and wholly life affirming, exemplifying what art means to the human experience.

The movie:
This one was a blast but I wonder if this genre isn’t entirely for me. Loved all the action, thought it was hilarious and endlessly cool at times but I didn’t really get a ton out of it past that. Maybe it’s just movie fatigue though, I’d definitely like to revisit because this was really unique.

The movie:
Incredibly shot, incredible ending, but wayyyyyyy too freakin long for no reason. This movie did however assure me that Tom Holland has the chops to star in a Christopher Nolan movie.

I’m doing good, I haven’t made it through that many movies
because I keep picking longer ones but that’s okay it’s about quality not quantity.
I am starting to get very hungry for lunch but don’t have a ton of fun lunch options stocked in the apartment right now. Probably gonna try to figure that out and then start my next flick.

This was a really unique pickup from Shudder because it lacks most of the traditional elements of horror. On the other hand it completely makes sense as an artistic decision because this movie is horrifying.
The political plot mixed with magical realism was absolutely brilliant. I was shook by the end of the movie, I felt sobered by the experience. This movie has so much to say, and it does it in such a powerful way. I plan on watching…
