Source Code, it's your basic time travel train mystery story. I decided to watch this movie three times for the full effect. That may have been a mistake. Let's get started.
1st watch:
It's nice seeing Donnie Darko travel back in time again. This time around he's going around punching strangers in the face and blowing up a few times.
Found out this has some of that famous Jake Gylenhall head shaking. Classic Jake.
Overall it was an okay movie, although I started losing interest near the end. I'm a sucker for time travel movies of all sorts, so I've definitely seen worse. Onto the next watch.
2nd watch: "It's the same train but It's different."
I love how Donnie has an ID that says teacher he uses as a way to assault people.
"Source Code is not time travel. Rather, Source Code is time re-assignment. It gives us access to a parallel reality." - Westworld guy, trying to tell us this isnt a time travel movie.
"It's the new me. " - New Donnie Darko
"The world is hell." and "You're a teacher, you understand." - Bad guy
Paid a bit more attention to the end this time around. I learned that I shouldn't ever let evil scientists tell me what's what.
3rd watch:
I was not looking forward to the third watch. I was secretly hoping maybe the movie itself would be different this time around.
My opinion hasn't changed much, if anything it's worse on a rewatch. So don't do that. Watch this if you like time travel stories and watching Jake Gylenhall blow up, but as a one and done only.
