"Everything's gonna be okay."
Saw this on Netflix and it was the only Duncan Jones film I hadn't seen after I watched Mute yesterday so figured I'd chuck it on and I was blown away. It's not perfect, but it is an excellent sci-fi thriller that plays with the time travel concept and does a pretty good job of it. The story is complex but in a simple way, if that makes sense. The acting was excellent, the direction was really good, the story was really well done and the ending was really well handled. To be honest, I didn't expect it to end the way it did, but I really liked it.
My only issues are that I feel like it could've been maybe 20-30 minutes longer. With a complex premise like this one, you really need to take the time to explain it and while I understood what was happening, I could see some people getting a bit confused. Plus, I felt like the story was almost rushed in the middle, he discovers what's going on seemingly out of nowhere. That extra time could've let him unravel the mystery at a bit of a slower pace.
This is a really good sci-fi movie with a cool concept and it plays with the Time Travel premise in an interesting way. Definitely worth checking out!
