I want to lower my rating again after having finished both seasons of Andor, but maybe that's not fair. Looks fantastic; story is a flat mess. God I want a real finale to Andor so bad.

First rewatch since the theater. Still looks great but fine, all the dialogue with Clooney and backstory stuff is bad enough to hurt it. They took liberties with some of the physics and the scale of distances, tolerable imo to make it a tight thriller - but a much greater suspension of disbelief is needed for Clooney's early patter, and there's no reason to make Ryan a tragic bereaved mom (I still like the hallucination fakeout!)

Hoo boy. Some stuff in this makes me mad. Half of this is pure wish fulfillment fantasy (in our reality there are no roving bands of black toughs enacting righteous, poetically ironic justice against white supremacists, but the gang of white supremacists attacking the black man in the parking lot? Happens every day)

Liked it a whole lot the first time, kind of crazily adored it this time. Upgraded from 4.5 to 5 without hesitation. I rarely rewatch movies while they’re still in theaters (so much to see!) and this has made me question that practice. It’s such a different experience when you’re not simply waiting to see what happens next, and it’s not necessarily a lesser one, which shows how much we privilege plot and shock and “no spoilers!” in The Discourse. …
