better than a 5 but idk if its worth a 6, so it's 2.5 stars and a heart. still cool to have finally watched a foundational horror film like this. it does a good job with the slow-burn dread and psychological unease, in a very subdued and restrained way which i liked. where the movie lost me was that goofy ass superpower explanation though and that the guy also had those the whole time, i enjoyed how grounded in reality…
