Close-Up

Although I'm so tempted to dive into and get lost in the whole 'what is true, what is a construction, what is performance, what is reality' aspect, I wanna touch on something that I haven't seen spoken about much.

The whole law side of this is absurd. It's a situation that could've been solved with an eye-to-eye conversation. A man acts on his own instinctual nature because of his own individual emotional needs and it all spirals a little out…

Very funny and the two leads are very good. (plus it's a Christmas movie)

The world is absurd with both its invented rules and inherent realities. Here the wide is the comic+despair. Rage until laugh until flounder until run until collapse. Then a dream, a drift, to your surrender. Harris has a definite eye and point of view. It's a wonderful debut.

It's fantastical, yet human. Joyous, but poignant. The vibrant imagery and sparkling music have been embedded to my soul. A dream that I never wanted to wake from. Simply put, it's a jazzterpiece.
