Brilliant animation but the real magic comes from knowing that none of the dialogue was scripted, it is all taken from interviews with people who are unhappy with their lives.

I love stories from the past that feel more relevant to the modern day than the time they were created.

A film about grimey, seedy people in a slick beautiful neon world.
Hits all my favourite story beats of classic noir novels but also twists tropes delightfully.

The lead character is one dimensional but the story doesn’t need him to be anything but a force of nature, brooding and stomping towards his goal.

Paul Rudd steals the show. He is the most versatile actor working today.

It was quite confronting at times but I always get a thrill when a film makes think “they aren’t going to do this are they?”

A must watch for fans of classic noir tales.
