Monoform Cinema had the honor of hosting the Kalamazoo premiere of No Other Land, and we were truly blown away by the response. Both of our scheduled screenings sold out within days, which was a new experience for us! We want this film to be accessible to those who want to see it, and since it is no longer available to rent or stream on any US platform, we have added two additional screenings!
We will be screening the film on Thursday, May 22nd and Friday, May 23rd. For both shows, doors will open at 7:30pm, which is when our pre-show will begin. The film will start around 8:30pm.
You can buy tickets for Thursday, May 22nd here, and Friday May 23rd here.
Our pre-show is a deep dive into Palestinian short films, which we will be playing on both the large and small screen! We will also have resources available from K.N.O.W. (Kalamazoo Nonviolent Opponents of War), who were gracious enough to volunteer and speak at our previous screenings about how to get connected with activists in our area.

No Other Land won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. The film documents the gradual destruction of the rural community of Masafer Yatta in the occupied West Bank. It is also a deeply human portrait of the pain and resilience of its residents, as they fight to stay on their own land.
Basel Adra, a young Palestinian activist from Masafer Yatta, has been fighting his community's mass expulsion by the Israeli occupation since childhood. He crosses paths with Yuval, an Israeli journalist who s his struggle, and for over half a decade they fight against the expulsion while growing closer. Their complex bond is haunted by the extreme inequality between them: Basel, living under a brutal military occupation, and Yuval, unrestricted and free. This film, by a Palestinian-Israeli collective of four young activists, was co-created during the darkest, most terrifying times in the region, as an act of creative resistance to Apartheid and a search for a path towards equality and justice.

We would like to thank everyone who came out to our previous two screenings! We would also like to give a special shout out to Students for Justice in Palestine at Kalamazoo College. They made our second screening accessible to students and it was great to have them there. We appreciate your !
This is such an important film to see, and we hope that you can us!
