I just watched history being made. Cinema is alive and well. Dune Part Two is an absolute marvel, a god level film that reminded me of why I fell in love with film in the first place. It challenged me, enthralled me, terrified me and above all, changed me. Every detail about this film is just immaculate. The stunning visuals, the spectacular score and costumes, and the incredible cast. Zendaya is excellent bringing a heart and soul to this war torn film, Rebecca Ferguson is haunting, slithering from scene to scene, and Austin Butler is a mad genius in his role. But best of all, Timothée Chalamet delivers one of the best performances in a role of this size, I’ve ever seen. He commands the screen in a way I haven’t seen done for many years. He’s a true actor, a true movie star, a true talent. All credit finally to Denis Villeneuve bringing this huge scale film to the big screen in a masterwork for the ages.
