Unbelievably good.

How the fuck a Godzilla movie had me damn near crying is beyond me, but this was everything I could hope for out of a Godzilla movie. Breathtaking, harrowing, emotional, and enthralling.

Struck the perfect balance of the human elements with its focus on Shikishima, Noriko and Akiko, and the enticing, other-worldly magnitude of a monster that is the G-man. 

The story surrounding Shikishima and co. wasn’t anything groundbreaking, but it demonstrated beautifully how these movies can still do more than just be surface-level monster movies with fun action and cool monster-smash-building sequences.

This fucking rocked.
