What Harmony Korine does here is use Disney alumni (Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, and Britney Spears) to frame a story about the loss of innocence. Juxtaposing pink unicorns and pretty colours with sex, drugs, and violence. It’s genius.

The final message of the film is about reconciling with yourself, putting your reckless desires aside, and learning to live a more responsible life.

It’s called "the American Dream" because you have to be asleep to believe it.
