Finally! My favorite book is done real film justice. Thank you Denis for helping heal my lingering wound from 1984 (David, you know I love you, but…), which the 2000 effects-challenged miniseries first attempted with limited results. A beautifully harsh film. I LOVE the various diversions from the source material, which had to sink in first, but which open up this world wonderfully, and help set the story on firmer ground. Thank you Denis for asking the difficult “but WHY?” questions during script development. Dune, the Voice from 1965, finally takes its place on the cinema throne and fulfills the elusive prophecy!
