Dune: Part Two

"I found my way."

Paul wasn't as conventionally likable nor innocent in this installment. While Lady Jessica exchanges whispers and tampering for outright force and unbridled ambition. This is all very compelling, but also unnerving. There is no doubt about it, mother and son are absolutely playing the Game of Thrones. I'm so excited, I'm so scared.

The previous film was all about Timothée, and you’ll never catch me complaining about that. But this one really felt like Rebecca and Zendaya’s show and I loved that shift in focus.

I’m surprised to say this about a 2 hour and 46 minute film, but I do think there was five more minutes in there that would have allowed for some breathing room between the story beats, especially as Paul and Jessica were integrated into the Fremen. And my other critique is that all of Florence Pugh’s headpieces were truly awful, like sinfully so!!

It’s a lot of story and moving pieces to take in, I can’t wait for another rewatch so I can give it a proper review and see how solid this 4.5 rating is. I do prefer Part One on the whole, and I don’t see that shifting.
