To some extent this exists in my favorite genre, the Capital Flows Extended Cinematic Universe, alongside Blackhat and Boarding Gate, even if its main concern is surplus populations instead of supply-chain logistics. But I'd probably have preferred a version that, like those other examples of 21st Century Sino-Obsessed Globalization Sci-Fi Thrillers, leaned a little bit more into the genre elements... it's a bit weightless otherwise, and Robbins, for all his talents, isn't ever the most engaging and sympathetic lead.
