Such an incredible atmosphere and texture to this film that makes the tension so palpable. From the score to the cinematography to the set pieces, this really strikes a chord and feels like an elevated level of filmmaking. So so good. I wish this took a little more time with its suspense and delved a bit deeper into some character dynamics, but nevertheless what an absolute treat. The 70mm IMAX screening must’ve been absolute heat.

Red Rooms

A slow descent into the darkest depths of human behaviour, explored through familiar facets of life that give a glimpse into what is truly unfamiliar but horrifyingly all too real. Eerie, atmospheric, jarring and scary beyond what a normal horror would evoke. I think with some time this will find its way onto more people’s radars.

Raw and richly crafted gothic horror that bleeds off the screen with ferocious force. Despite its delicious world building and incredible cast (Willem and Lily-Rose are outstanding) I was surprisingly taken back by how simple the linear story was and as a result I felt a little underwhelmed by the end. It’s clear that qualities of The Northman have found their way into the latest dark tale from the legend that is Robert Eggers, but I can’t say I’m for…

Considering my overwhelming love for Knives Out, I did not have high hopes that Glass Onion would rise to the ranks of its predecessor. Upon a rewatch of this, I can't say this is not a close contender! I felt a lot more engaged with the story and its characters this time round. An absolute blast and another legendary Benoit performance from the Bond man himself. (Don't get me wrong, Knives Out will forever in my heart be the greatest film in this ongoing mystery extravaganza).
