Oppenheimer

Nolan delivers a film that is as large in scale as the events that it depicts from the all star cast to the sound design. The use of both colour and black and white to differnate the points of view of Klaus and Oppenheimer is a very clear way to inidicate whose side of the story is being told. I also think that the sequence of the testing of the bomb was also hauntingly beautiful. But don't let that make you think this film is pro-war. It most certainly is not. It is a warning to humanity.

The Father

Rewatched

At times difficult to follow. However that is precisely the point. By keeping us guessing as to what is true and what is false allows us to empathise with Hopkins. The Father uses this unique structure to portray dementia in a relatable way for those afflicted and their loved ones.
