This showdown had definite rules (at least one, and preferably more, of the core cast must return in a chronological continuation of the original story) but I decided to set myself another too, and try to avoid the big long running franchises and obvious choices. It's hard to overlook Mad Max, Bond, Indy, The Man With No Name, Rocky, the Alien and Star Wars films, but it had to be done - and we all know they'll form the consensus top ten anyway.
