Just found out the lead guy played Dear Even Hansen on Broadway wtf. I still probably know every word to those songs. I shouldn’t it that. The movie was fun. I yelped at the Pepsi joke.
]]>“All this talk about feminist homicide is really making me crazy”
Might set the record for the most “Matthew”s ever uttered in a movie. Pretty understated as far as Larry Cohen movies go. I appreciated the absurdity of an adult man’s biggest opposition being a two-year old.
]]>The most intense pool fence PSA I’ve ever seen.
]]>Watched with my dad because it’s one of his favorite movies. I can see the impact of the character Chris Knight on my dad’s sense of humor. Very dad movie coded overall. Fun and silly, with a touch of poorly aged humor. Just the way I like my 80s comedies.
]]>I haven’t seen this movie since high school so I didn’t know if I would still enjoy it. It’s such a fun movie! The cast is fantastic. I adore Kieran Culkin. Edgar Wright’s style is endlessly entertaining to me. Those quick cuts put me in a trance!
]]>Well they remade the same movie again. Some fun gore happening to forgettable characters. What more could you ask for from the fifth Final Destination movie?
]]>I got lightheaded when Hayley did the tongue thingy with the hand.
]]>Gf had to go pee right at the climax of the movie and had to watch it on her phone after the movie ended. Just as Yorgos intended.
]]>I love how the franchise has come to embrace their inconsistent rules. Things get messy when you mess with death or whatever. The intro premonition scene was stellar. I was sweating! Very very cool to see on an IMAX screen. I’m curious if they’re going to try making any more installments.
]]>This movie is huge for lovers of the color red (me).
]]>Unmatched sleazy vibes in 2022! Gross, murderous old people rule. I loved the whole porn crew. They had some great banter. Here’s to the perverts!
]]>@ Duckie
YOU ARE GAYYYYYY
The drop-off in quality from the previous installment is insane. The shoehorned-in 3D shots gave me a giggle.
]]>Tanning bed scene + Mary Elizabeth Winstead make this movie worth the watch.
]]>This review may contain spoilers.
When the credits rolled at the screening, I overheard someone say it would have been much more effective if the little boy hadn’t actually been sick and the dad had killed him senselessly out of paranoia. I think they had a good point.
]]>I liked the dynamic of the bandmates. I would have been okay with watching a movie of them just touring around the PNW and getting into antics. Too bad they had to go and see too much.
]]>I could never watch this movie growing up due to my fear of mummies. Even the poster terrified me. I can’t believe how goofy it actually is. Rather far from the chilling horror picture I envisioned as a child. I’m always happy when a movie mentions anthropology.
]]>Scared my girlfriend by telling her about my Swedish ancestry as soon as the credits rolled.
]]>it wOUld bE exTrEMeLy pAiNFuL
]]>I need to make a list of all “men suffering in the wilderness” movies I’ve seen. I would also have to be tied up if I had to spend two days in a swamp. A very stressful movie. The trees falling scene was a standout for me. The finale was also chefs kiss. Stressful Cajun music.
]]>Finally gave this one a proper rewatch. I watched it for the first time on a chromebook ages ago during high school. The Criterion blu ray was like a totally new experience! This movie is hardcore analog filmmaking porn. Watching John Travolta work with all that tedious machinery just makes me wonder how movies ever managed to be made.
]]>Ngl, I was pretty unsure about watching this movie. The Frida paired it with Bodies Bodies Bodies for a double feature. I didn’t know if this experimental, dance-heavy movie would keep my attention. I’m glad I stuck around and watched it because it was pretty rad. Definitely a true mind melt by the end. I was never bored during the runtime. I felt absolutely entranced!
]]>Unfortunately, I am the Bee of the friend group. Down to gifting zucchini bread. Watched this at the Frida and they gave us glow sticks! Very fun, crowd-pleaser movie. I would show this to my fellow gen Z friends so they think I’m cool.
]]>Really fun to watch in a full theater, laughing along with everyone. And ugh that cinematography! The black-and-white 4:3 was the perfect choice. Almost as perfect as Dafoe’s and Pattinson’s dancing.
]]>The Witch (2015) Eyes of Fire (1983)

Nothing good happens to disgraced pilgrims living in the woods
Sometimes you just have to watch a movie in a theater that’s so loud you’re temporarily mildly deaf afterwards.
]]>A great movie to watch in a theater with a full audience. I wanted to know the ghosts backstories though! How did they get like that? Maybe they have good reason to be so angry.
]]>It was delightful to subject my girlfriend to this masterpiece.
]]>Undeniably stunning, but sometimes I wished I was taking part in the Stop Making Sense dance party happening in the neighboring theater instead of watching these Russians suffer.
]]>It’s a shame no one in the Final Destination series has bones
]]>The epitome of 2000s horror I think.
]]>This happened to a buddy of mine (me).
]]>Liked it a little more on rewatch. Maybe the 16mm print helped. I still am not a fan of the animal deaths. The is-cannibalism-a-myth storyline hit a little more this time though. Why did they bring Pat on this trip? I don’t think she made for the best company.
]]>I adore Gail the foul-mouthed child so much. This movie would be excellent if the third act was a bit tighter. Less white men standing around and talking to each other please. More Gail.
]]>Top notch acting! Delightful creature effects! Absurd plot! What more could you ask for in a movie? Plus, I got to see it on a wonderful 16mm print. That’s cinema, baybeeee.
]]>I feel like I should like this one more than I do. There’s some great stuff in it, but I think the pacing is just too glacially slow for my taste. Maybe an incredible score could have saved it. The defeat of the killer is absolutely fantastic though. Girls get it done!
]]>I didn’t like this movie when I first watched it in high school. I appreciate it more now. There are some extremely funny scenes. It was enjoyable to watch in a theater with an audience. I need to rewatch it with subtitles though. I do not always process dialogue well. I would probably like it more if I was less sleepy while watching. That’s on me though.
]]>I just think Christoph Waltz is so cool. I could have used a few less needle drops though. This movie must have had an unlimited squib budget, and I’m thankful for it.
]]>Finally got to see it on the big screen!! Absolutely delightful experience. I love every single creative decision made for this movie. The lo-fi, uncanny visuals can be pretty chilling at times. It’s mostly silly nonsense though. Blanche rules!!!!
]]>Consider my heart warmed. That fur coat Margot wears…iconic.
]]>Set back blue-eyed redheads 100 years.
]]>Maybe I’m too jaded for the meta-horror comedy stuff. It feels like stuff I’ve heard hundreds of times in pop culture. I guess this was the movie that started it all. Perhaps if I’d been a teenager in 1996 when it was released it would have been my favorite movie. Shaggy brought his A game though ngl❗️❗️
]]>Good silly stuff! The shows and commercials/trailers are my favorite bits of the movie. Watched while making zucchini bread.
]]>Yipes, that’s relevant! Definitely a slow-build of dread that really pays off in the finale. “Is that what I was afraid of?”
]]>Has the ingredients for a fun Friday the 13th knock-off, but it takes so long for any character to actually get slashed.
]]>Does the Batsuit make all actors playing Batman pucker their lips or?
]]>A foundational text for me.
]]>Watched on Monday March 10, 2025.
]]>Some of the best casting decisions ever made.
]]>I might have seen this movie as a child? Idk I don’t . Whatever, I’m logging it as a first-time watch. Toto has gotta be one of the best ones to ever do it. That dog can act.
