kind of uneven, but it’s just so much fun when it does hit its stride (read: Tim Curry balling tf out) that it had me grinning ear to ear by the end. Unreal final line lmao

An equal blend of trash (complimentary) and trash (derogatory) — the hangout components would work better if QT could characterize these women beyond their sexual exploits, but like lol cmon let’s be serious. This is Tarantino indulging his every impulse, for better or for worse.

In any case, it’s all worth it for the last 20 minutes, which are levitating-out-of-your-seat good.

Yeah I mean, shocker, I didn't like it. Feels like we've reached a terminal stage in MCU cannibalization – this movie is post-itself, and seemingly incapable of believing in or taking seriously any of its own drama. Liked Christian Bale's performance, wish they'd focused on it more. Idk. Whatever. Natalie Portman gets yassified when she picks up the hammer. Ok.

There are quibbles to be had – an underdeveloped relationship here, a jarring bit of pacing there – but they feel largely unimportant and not worth holding against the film, which is Nolan's best by many miles. Simply one of the most viscerally affecting film-viewing experiences I've ever had. Left me quiet, delirious, teary-eyed. I walked out of the theater in a daze, heart still trembling in my chest.
