It's What's Inside

2024

★★★ Watched

Whilst it does get a bit over the top with its gimmick by the end, It’s What’s Inside is a solid thriller/mystery with a unique premise and somewhat fun characters.

I would have enjoyed this more had it been more of a slasher/who done it but as it is I liked it.

Clown in a Cornfield

2025

★★★½ Watched

Clown In A Cornfield is a surprisingly good slasher with plenty of deaths and creepy clowns for fans of the genre.

The movie doesn’t necessarily do anything new but it does what it does well and I walked away confident that I’ll be revisiting this at some point. Solid characters, kills and effects all around.

Additionally, there is a decent subtext about the generational divide and how extreme and dangerous the older generations hatred/dismissal of the younger generations can be. I’m a fan!

Aftermath

2024

★½ 1

One of those movies you only end up watching when you’re at your dad’s house.

There’s not much to say about Aftermath. It’s a pretty bland action/thriller with a low budget and a basic story. Mason Gooding was fun.

Ballerina

2025

★★★ Watched

Going into Ballerina, I was expecting a complete mess but in actuality this is a pretty solid film with plenty of action sequences that will somewhat satisfy John Wick’s core audience. Ana De Armas is solid in the lead role as well.

Unfortunately, this still isn’t perfect. It gets wrapped up in way too much exposition and some of the direction and choreography felt a bit lacking compared to what we have seen time and time again in the John…
