Spider-Man: No Way Home

2021

★★★★½ Watched

Wow. Jonny boy’s outdone himself. So many emotions ran through me watching this thing, and all I can say is the damn hype paid off. Insanely enjoyable, surprisingly gritty at times, and packing one hell of an emotional punch. I was considering only giving this 3.5 stars since it does get somewhat convoluted around the 2nd act, but my experience watching it was filled with so much joy that I just had to add an extra-half star. A near-perfect blockbuster!

A Quiet Place Part II

2020

★★★½ Rewatched

I will it, it did get a bit worse on second viewing, and now I actually think that it’s on par with the original. Yes, the movie does feel a bit rushed (imo), and there are some questionable moments here and there, but the direction and performances made up for most of that jazz. Solid sequel!

Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith

2005

★★★½ Rewatched

That 60 second sequence of Anakin and Pé looking out their sky-rises, separated by miles of futuristic infrastructure and the Coruscant sunset horizons has got to be one of the best scenes from this whole saga. A sci-fi, epic tragedy in every sense of those words.

Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones

2002

★★★ Rewatched

Pé Amidala is top 5 finest females in all of cinema, i’m locked tf in though

The Shining

1980

★★★★½ Liked Rewatched

Showed this to one of my good friends - this isn’t the type of movie he usually watches so I can’t emphasise enough how elated I was when we came out and he said he dug the shit out of it. The feeling you get when you show someone you love art you love is unmatched. What more can I say about this film that hasn’t already been said though? Peak horror atmosphere, even more monumental experiencing all its glory on a 20-foot tall-ish screen.
