Jolie’s that girl you have on a photograph to take to war with

Very weird watching Cruise act scared shitless to literally anything and everything screaming and running at him for the first part of this movie, but when this gets going, it gets GOING. First Doug Liman movie! Love how energetic he is with his craft, the bits of wit and humour scattered throughout what is a pretty intense blockbuster is something I really appreciate.
Has all the elements set to make this an exceptional blockbuster (cast, director, location etc.), but The Lone Ranger unfortunately suffers from a pretty uninteresting script, and the excitement that’s supposed to hold the film together slowly fizzles out as the runtime goes along. Fun climax though, and the Verbinski + Depp duo proves the movies about those pirates weren’t a one-off match made in heaven.
My least favourite of the franchise thus far. Nyong’o and Quinn pair terrifically well, but the absence of Krasinski’s visceral direction and a lack of stakes (particularly in the third act) left me not as satisfied as I hoped I’d be. Still though, the film does deliver on the promises of its title - I can guarantee not a single nail was left unbitten in the theatre I was in.
The first horror movie in a while that I’ve been properly grossed out from. Not actually scary by any means, but the amount of freaking blood and gore they put in here could fill up a couple Olympic-sized swimming pools and then some, like damn. The cranberry juice sitting in my fridge can go take a hike for a while.
