There are few things I’d wish to see right before I leave this Earth, and I have Fallout’s aspect ratio changes up on that list - that’s if we’re getting specific of course

In my M:I feels right now! Never fails to completely floor me how much gold’s in this from top to bottom. If Fallout’s the greatest straight modern action film of at least its decade, this takes the cake for the best pure Mission: Impossible movie. McQ snapped and it was only his first entry.
Quite easily the best of the franchise (so far?). Barely any fat, moves at such a lively and frantic pace that the runtime flies by. Ball’s higher budget and larger cast clearly did only wonders to his confidence as a film-maker, as the action sequences in particular are beautifully helmed. So much love for this sequel, kinda wish more of these types of movies were made nowadays.
Find another superhero movie that explores grief and hope with this much meditation, pure grit and ion that bleeds through the screen. I have no doubt in my mind that this will be a classic a hundred years from now, and then some - near flawless comic book film making.
Maybe the style gets a little too melodramatic at times, but the rest of Heat is just so unbelievably mesmerising that it’s so hard for me to care. More than just your regular heist film - a visceral and epic odyssey of loneliness, the vital choices that we have the power to make in our lives, and regret, juxtaposing with the cold and bitter exterior of LA, and the broken characters that inhabit it. I could easily get lost in this world for another 3 hours, movies simply do not get better than this.
I’ve always thought as a kid that this was pretty on par with the first, but it’s now without a doubt that this one’s a fair few miles ahead for me. Way more confident direction from Ritchie, a lot more intrigue in which the screenplay unravels through, and the iconic duo in here that is Downey Jr. and Law are so perfect together. I’m confused as to why the world never got any more sequels - could easily watch another…
I don’t know much, but I do know that this one of the greatest animated films to ever do it… Absolutely quintessential to my childhood as well as the love I have for this art form nowadays, so this will always have such a special piece in my heart. And that score? C’monnnnnn
