absolutely fucking insane.

Even though it isn’t as brilliant as its predecessor, Bly Manor is still a great and worthy season follow-up. The writing is inventive and bold as always, the cast is stellar and once again, the best part of this show are the characters (Jaime and Owen were my favourites). The pacing suffers a bit during the middle, and some characters weren’t resolved as best as I think they could have been, but one thing I will say is how the good the…
This is honestly one of my favourite shows of all time now. A story of grief, regret and family drama disguised as a supernatural horror - and it’s damn near perfect. There’s a couple plot lines here and there that could have been polished a bit, but overall, just a phenomenal work of art. Yes, the cinematography, the script, the direction, it’s all fantastic. But in the end, these characters, who feel human, make the show what it is. Oh,…
.. not entirely sure what to make of this yet. There undoubtedly are interesting ideas at play here, but I’m ultimately left really conflicted. On one hand, I think this tackles some huge themes in a fairly interesting way, but simultaneously, I don’t love how it went about resolving some stories and plot points, or how it took a while to even kick into gear where it started looking at characters and existential themes that are prevalent in the latter half of the series. It just feels so scattered, and maybe that’s part of it, but I can’t fully grasp onto it.
this show changed my life. the only piece of media i’ve seen that perfectly explores grief, the regret that comes with it, and the trauma that shapes a family in the long-term. the characterization is so nuanced that even on a ninth (?) rewatch, i’m still learning more about every single one of them and the different coping mechanisms each of the characters developed.

me and my flatmate would just audibly go “holy shit” every 10 seconds because of how cool darth vader was in this
Twin Peaks: The Return is an enigma. For the longest time I wasn’t even sure if I liked this show that much at all. Tbh I still am kinda unsure. I think I kinda love it now that I know how everything wraps up and what everything (maybe) means.
I think my thoughts are pretty perfectly described by Karsten Runquist in his Twin Peaks video, “it is very confusing and at times a little boring; you’ll go full episodes without…
SEASON 1
This show honestly so far is EVERYTHING I wanted it to be. I was kinda unsure of what to expect but after the pilot all my wildest dreams came true. Lynch’s style is in full effect, with the whole show giving off a sorta dream-like vibe, every character having their individual quirks. Something seems slightly off about every one of them, but that’s what makes the whole atmosphere of the show unnerving. And of course the central narrative…
Just finished the finale, and it was good! I really enjoyed this show somewhat surprisingly. It had some of the most interesting character work in my opinion, and it honestly is probably my favourite of the MCU shows as it stands.
