Sharp as a whip, and beautifully cold, just took me a second to get on its wavelength (480p copy did not help)

There was a sequence of performances that was like marvin sammy davis roberta flack AND quincy jones and mf curtis mayfield (who possibly wins the award for most "with it" in this whole film). Gorgeous cinematography, always invisible cameras. Some of the coolest b-roll i've seen god DAMN those hats!!! David spencer is cool you guys need to pipe down

"THEY KILLED RADIO RAHEEM!!!" - Nate

Eisenstein would be proud. Leveling moral/sociopolitical questions at an unsuspecting audience by perfectly utilizing the form. This is a far cry from the dry, pedantic "social justice" films that neolib studios shove down our throats.

On a technical level, 10/10. Spike is clearly a student of the masters. I see Renoir, Ray, Fuller, De Sica....all lovingly brought together by one man's hand. He builds a fucking universe, all contained within one block, in under 2 hours.

A beautiful watch experience.
