I still cannot believe this movie exists. A French Canadian guy convinced the most evil studio in Hollywood right now to give him $400 million to make two films out of one of the most notoriously difficult to adapt books and also cast a dozen A-Listers in it. Not only that, he absolutely COOKED. Career high performances from everybody, especially Timothée Chalamet, whose commitment to the heel turn absolutely blindsided me, even as someone who worships the novel. Even if Dune Messiah never gets made, this is one of the most miraculous achievements in cinema history.
