Providing a melancholic, atmospheric storytelling and beautiful female lead in contrast to the dirty town of Shanghai, Suzhou River should have been a perfect fit for me. You can also get vibes as you would watch a movie by Wong Kar-Wai or Bi Gan. Unfortunately, Lu Ye exaggerated it with his shaky hand camera throughout the movie. It was hard to follow for me without feeling kind of sick.

Journey to the Shore is not the typical movie you would expect from Kiyoshi Kurosawa. However, you still get beautiful pictures while going on the journey with Yusuke and Mizuki but the story doesn't offer any surprises or highlights. The movie went slowly from place to place while Mizuki gets to know more of her dead husband and the places and people he introduces her to as a ghost.

Ich konnte Parasite leider nicht im Kino sehen, umso erfreulicher ist es, dass die Blu-ray in Hongkong (Code A) schon erschienen ist und heute bei mir angekommen ist und ich den Film direkt anschauen konnte. Und meine hohen Erwartungen wurden voll erfüllt. Was eine unglaubliche, starke Geschichte. Ein top Cast, toll gefilmt und zu keiner Zeit langweilig. Anfangs noch amüsant, wird es nach einer Stunde aber brenzliger und spannend. Aber am besten ist es, man weiß vorher nichts über die Story. So kann sie sich ganz beim Anschauen entfalten. Ganz großes, asiatisches Kino, Herr Bong Joon Ho.

Einer meiner am meisten gesehenen Filme und somit auch natürlich einer meiner Lieblingsfilme. Nun erstmals als 4K UHD gesehen und mächtig beeindruckt von der Bildqualität. Alien sah noch nie so gut aus.
