We found the doc much too long (could have been 30 minutes shorter), and a bit more critical commentary would have been nice.

The fact that so much propaganda lies were told by these soldiers without director's commentary is troublesome. We understand that's how they think, but what if people might take it as valid perspective?

The doc therefore circles too much around the same principle: poor people are manipulated by big politics and sent to the battlefield.

But we also understand that it is a difficult position. The director's remark that she was surprised that Russia participated in a war again after WW2 was a laughing matter for our Eastern European colleagues. Well...

A biopic in the style of any other. Switches between light comedy and drama.

Sures TV quality in a sense, but fails to really captivate because it remains too tame in style and content.

Sad and intense.

Seen at the press/industry screening in an almost empty room (out of 1400 seats, maybe only 30 occupied).

In Intercepted, sound and image stare each other in the face as director Oksana Karpovych contrasts quiet compositions of everyday life of Ukrainians since the full-scale invasion with intercepted phone conversations between Russian soldiers and their families.

Beautiful on the surface, but boring because of lack of content.

Daniel Craig is really great.

The film is very grim in of cinematography and story, grabs you and doesn't really let you go.

Inspired by 90s Marc Dutroux case, which in Belgium led into nation wide protest in the late 90s due to dysfunctional justice system. The main character resembles the disbelief and injustice.

Corny humor, nice to see at the stream on your sofa at home.

Would have loved to see Clooney and Pitt together in something better.

Epic life story drama in the style of Godfather and Once Upona Time in America. Real great to watch such a piece of cinematic achievement again on the big screen.

Our only negative point is that the 70mm screening had focus issues in Venice, the projectionist should have done better.

Solid made thriller, good crime action scenes, great acting. But in the end you will forget about it as soon as you have seen it since it does not offer anything new. Still a good watch in the theatre to spent a nice evening.

It's delightful to see Kidman and Dickinson togeter, but in the end the movie stays too flat storywise. And Banderas is downright bad. There is however some dark humor in there and the movie has it's moments.

We also do not have too many Dutch directors making career in the USA. So kudos for Reijn!

More like a video research essay for a museum or exhibition.

However, it's well put together out of the big (and by Riefenstahl edited) archive they had access to.

Based on the letters of Freud and Einstein, staged with allegories of dramatic women draped in red satin like from a high school drama club, spoken in French.

The Liberation of Eindhoven

On September 18, 1944, Allied forces liberated Eindhoven from German occupation, making it one of the first cities in the Netherlands to be freed. American troops approached from the north, while British forces, including the Irish Guards of the Second Army, advanced from the south. In the city center, American and British soldiers met.

Eindhoven is the only city in the Netherlands that has commemorated this significant moment every year without interruption since 1945.

Das Boot

"Das Boot" shows the war through the eyes of Nazi ’s U-boat crew.

The soldiers are trapped in a steel coffin beneath the Atlantic, struggling not just against the Allies, but against the bitter knowledge that their mission is doomed.

The film does not glorify their cause, but instead portrays the sobering reality of being part of a machine—of following orders and confronting death.

It’s a relentless, claustrophobic experience of naval war machine.
