Final Destination

2000

★★★ Watched

I turning ‘Final Destination’ off the first time I tried watching it.

While I think it’s a cool concept, the film really gets an unwarranted rise out of me. I get so frustrated with the way the main character goes about things.
The rest of the film is very fun though. It reaches its final destination, which is ultimately very campy and borderline stupid, with a touch of brilliance and lighting in a bottle — and it (kinda) works.…

10/10 no notes.

‘Sinners’ was a phenomenal cinematic experience. The soundtrack was heavenly and it was so grand, very, very happy to have caught this in theaters.

‘Challengers’ aka “worshipping Zendaya for two hours” is an excellent example of a decent concept graced by a fantastic visionary director. The execution is such a huge factor in making this film special.

Surprise of the year? I didn’t know this film existed until two days ago. The plot sounded intriguing, but nothing could have prepared me for this. I expected this to be a highly intellectual film, which it was, but I didn’t expect it to move me. Consider me taken aback.

I loved the pacing combined with the visceral, intense soundscape. Every piece of dialogue was purposeful.

The film is also a visual wonder to behold. So many aesthetically pleasing shots.

Ralph Fiennes is a fantastic actor!
