To anyone following me who is truly deeply upset by wildes characters treatment in this film - I am deeply sorry to you. Deeply sorry that you checked out of the film when the 'scene in question' occurred, confirming whatever bias you may have brought into a clint eastwood picture. I say this because i legitimately do not understand how you can view this film as belittling or attacking her character outright, but hey, who am I to tell you…

Crazy how Anakin was simply terrified of getting cucked by his homie… also prob nothing new to the real Lucas-heads out there but I came away with a new read of the whole midichlorian thing. The Republic is pretty utopian all things considered, the Jedi practically the moral ideal of a defense force, but like most human ideals its decline arises from its absolutism. Midichlorians are less a retcon, more a jab at the supposed objectivity provided by human definitions of a fairly unattainable Order.
