Only Greta Gerwig could make a film that is simultaneously a deconstruction of the male-run patriarchal society we live in and a reflective critique on the independence we all so desperately desire. 

I adored the natural quirkiness of Barbie as a film and the commitment to the tone and structure. Gerwig and Baumbach’s screenplay is so brilliant, and so very funny. The direction of Gerwig particularly stands out, with creative choices and visual queues that rise high.
