Good movie.  Maybe I should have rewatched the first movie before seeing this but I did read the book and ik most of the plebs reading this probably haven’t. They cut stuff from the book I loved like Alia and added stuff I didn’t or wasn’t there in the first place, I think.  My favorite aspect of this film was the increased focus on Channi although I still felt there could have been more from her.  The visuals are crazy and the shots are amazing.  In of scope this film is the grandest thing I’ve ever seen.  The black and white infra red sequences with feud ratha are insane albeit..overlong imo.  I love the matriarchal sisterhood guiding the strings from the shadows.  This films structurally overlong imo but it’s very cool still.  I’m already very familiarized with the themes and ideas and conceptually the characters are great but I’m not sure they’ll be sticking with me emotionally afterwards.  Channi is amazing.  Also the plot twist about the bloodline was so fucking underwhelming as compared to the book where it’s used to propel the whole story.
