]]>I’m never gonna understand this wonderful, weird, magical film and I don’t think I want to
]]>This review may contain spoilers.
I have so many things I could say about this movie so here’s 66 notes:
1. This is probably one of the most quotable movies of all time, like during the Anakin v obi-wan fight me and my friend were quoting basically everything
2. Anakin and Pe’s death/Luke, Leia and Vader’s birth being intercut is genuinely genius
3. I honestly love how obi-wan took like a minute thinking about how he should confront grievous and ended up deciding on “HELLO THERE”
4. It’s really funny how it only takes one genuinely really good movie to redeem a pretty bad trilogy
5.Palpatine in this movie is so funny because half the time he’s a genuinely fascinating and incredible villain and the other half he’s just hilarious
6.The score of this movie is phenomenal oh my lord
7.Did Palpatine’s blue lad just not notice Yoda during him and Bail’s Zoom call
8.It’s really interesting how Lucas portrays Anakin’s slaughter of the separatists, as in a normal adventure movie this would be a satisfying and triumphant moment where Viceroy gets what’s coming to him, but revenge of the sith is not a normal adventure movie
9.Some of the dialogue here is actually really, really good, like ironically(e.g “So this is how liberty dies, with a thunderous applause” )
10.This movie’s portrayal of the jedi is so interesting, especially with how Palpatine was kinda right about them in a twisted way
11.Pe’s ruminations is the best scene in the movie
12.No wait it’s probably order 66
13.Never-mind it’s definitely the “You were my brother scene”
14.The darth plagueis scene is one of the best exposition scenes in history and you can’t tell me otherwise
15.That one take in the intro was so great, looked even better on the big screen
16.Darth Vader breathing genuinely gave me goosebumps
17.I refuse to believe Windu died from that fall considering how much crazy stuff the jedi survive
18.Christopher Lee is in this movie for about a minute and he’s absolutely peak, rip legend
19.’Over choreographed’ my ass, George came up with the coolest fight scenes he could’ve imagined
20.Did R2 not question once why Anakin arrived at the jedi temple and then left it burning to the ground
21.That Duel of the Fates reprise is absolutely perfect and fits better here than in TPM imo
22.”No one could’ve survived that fall” HE’S A SPACE WIZARD WHAT ARE YOU ON ABOUT
23.Yoda’s advice is actually pretty interesting, as it’s kinda the same advice Obi-wan gave Luke in ROTJ, both Anakin and Luke refuse this advice but Luke refuses it only partially, not being willing to kill his father but able to accept his death all the same, whereas Anakin is so unstable to a point he can’t control himself without pe and becomes a husk of a man
24.Obi-wan’s “I can’t watch anymore” is literally me with Rise of Skywalker
25.”This isn’t the jedi way” Yeah I’m sure Dooku would agree with that
26.C3P0 literally exists in this movie for no reason and he causes a lot of tonal whiplash
27.Mace windu fell out the window
28.Obi-wan spends the entire runtime aura farming and it’s peak cinema
29.Alright so I know I said it’s not over-choreographed but the 5 seconds of lightsaber twirling was a bit stupid
30.HELL YEAH THERE’S ONLY LIKE A MINUTE OF JAR JAR HERE
31.90% of the lines Grievous has makes no sense when watching this after TCW and it’s hilarious
32.I completely forgot Tarkin was in this and so seeing him return was a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
33.This is not a Shakespearean masterpiece but at the same time the dialogue here is basically on the same level
34.The visuals here are genuinely astonishing(especially in cinema)
35.#ReleasetheLucasCut
36.Why did Vice JD Gunman not lock the doors to his lava bunker? Is he stupid?
37.The CGI here is so good and I can’t believe that it was from the early 2000s
38.Ewan Genuinely cooked with that last monologue
39.”Is Anakin okay” “He’s fine he’s just cooling off”
40.I feel the same way about this movie as Schaffrillas Productions feels about Spider Man 3
41.How did Obi-wan get out of the starship without the droids noticing, did he use that super speed from TPM or are they just blind
42.The whole ‘Anakin ing the council’ subplot is actually really well done imo, as it clearly shows his distrust of the council without him having to say he doesn’t like the council
43.What’s the point in sending a message from the jedi temple saying that the war is over when 90% of the jedi have clones with them
44.The effects on the battle of Coruscant are genuinely so amazing
45.I feel like there’s a bit of a missed opportunity with the battle of Coruscant not effecting the actual planet, when that could be a good way of showing how unstable the republic has become
46.”NoOoOoOoOoO”
47.Chewbacca is in this movie for about 30 seconds and he has absolutely no relevance to the plot, you could remove him and it would change nothing
48.This movie does a LOT of heavy lifting for the trilogy by making Obi-wan and Anakin’s friendship more plausible and also establishing Palpatine and Anakin’s friendship which the other movies failed to set up particularly well
49.I can imagine that watching this in cinema with no idea about the inhibitor chip(or the EU counterpart) must’ve made the clones betrayal a bit confusing to say the least(though the previous movie did establish they obeyed any order without question, it also said they were totally loyal so I guess that only applies to Palps)
50.While this movie definitely doesn’t fix how poorly written Pe was in the previous movie, it definitely helps
51.I don’t know how Obi-wan survived getting a huge metal platform dropped on his waist and I don’t think George knows either
53.Hayden got a lotta hate for his role in this movie but honestly in both the Pe Rumination’s scene and in the scene where he gets deep fried he’s genuinely doing some top tier work
54. This movie has a lot of flaws but it’s also so fun and genuinely complex in a way that I can’t help but love it
55.The way so much nostalgia can be packed into two hours and 20 minutes and incredible
56.There’s a lot of critiques about how underacting Ewan is when he sees Anakin’s recording but honestly, I completely buy it because he is a representation of the Jedi and so is obviously not gonna be overemotional if he can, which makes the ending monologue so great
57.Hot take: Pe’s dying in childbirth makes sense: There are real world cases of people dying due to heartbreak(or Broken Heart Syndrome) and while it is rare I’m pretty sure if your fiancé became a serial killer and tried to kill you that would probably tick most of the boxes(also Anakin force choking her when she’s like 9 months into pregnancy probably didn’t help her survive)
58.I kinda buy Anakin killing the younglings and here’s why; Palpatine ordered him to wipe out the jedi and “do what must be done” because that is THE ONLY way he can save pe, by this point Anakin has crossed the line of no return by killing Windu and would easily be ousted by the Jedi order, the previous movie(Flawed as it may be) clearly established that Anakin can bring himself to commit horrible crimes in the name of his loved words, so while it is still a bit of a stretch he’d kill all of them remorselessly that’s not actually what’s implied to have happened; all we know is that he killed them, not how long it took
59.It is a bit funny how Yoda just waltz into Palpatine’s office, like obviously he must’ve faced some troops before this but I’d think that him being the most wanted man in the galaxy and Palpatine having just went through an assassination attempt would maybe make him decide to set up better security(though I suppose Yoda being a grand master means he could’ve probably still broke in, but I feel like there would be an alarm or something)
60.I’ve seen a lot of people say that Anakin believing “The jedi are evil and are taking over” is stupid considering how he told Windu that palpatine was a sith, but I’d argue him saying this is not so much trying to convince Obi but more so himself
61.That shot of Anakin trying to crawl up the hill of Mustafar is genuinely beautiful
62.Okay but genuinely why did Obi-wan try to kick Grievous lmao
63.The scene of Palpatine reorganising the Republic into the empire is pure Lucas Magic and John Williams cooks so hard with the score
64.The Majority of this movie’s problems would be solved by making it the 3-4 hour epic Lucas talked about, as then you could easily add scenes of Anakin expressing how he wants to become a Master, and scenes better establishing Grievous’s character
65.While Grievous isn’t a great character I do quite like the symbolism with him representing the machine anakin would become, especially in that Grievous can’t beat obi-wan in a fight because he lacks the force, and while Vader can beat Obi-wan in a duel in a new hope he ultimately loses as Obi-wan achieves exactly what he intended to
66. In conclusion, this movie is better than it has any right to be
Y’know, when it comes to any story it’s quite difficult to break that barrier that makes it feel real. There’s almost always a kind of detachment from what’s happening which makes it’s slightly difficult to get as invested as you could be, to feel how the characters feel. Adolescence broke that barrier.
]]>Sure, maybe it dragged a bit in the first half and maybe it didn’t need to be two parts but damn it, it really is worth it for those last 45 minutes, which are even more exceptional than the last hour of Songbirds and Snakes

“Absolute Cinema”
It’s terrible, no doubt, but about half-way through the film something weird happens; they actually kinda develop an interesting conflict between the mum and the grandma, that actually gives both of them characterisation, y’know like in a real movie? It’s doesn’t make up for all the bad dialogue and stupid stuff that happens before(or after) but for at least 5 minutes this film is somewhat decent, and that’s probably the nicest thing I can say about this film
]]>One of the lines the main antagonists of this movie says is “The Black Man is the brother of my predecessor’s personal assistant” and I think that accurately summarises the quality of this movie

Kinda the best and worst Hunger Games movie
Part I: “The Mentor” is decent but also not really anything special aside from Rachel Zegler actually delivering a good performance???
Part II: “The Prize” is good but also quite flawed, the villains in the game are kinda meh from an acting and writing perspective and the main game villain is basically just diet Cato, I did really like Jason Schwartzman and the singing scene with the snakes.
Part III: “The Peacekeeper” is quite possibly the best this franchise has ever been. Everything just sort of clicks and suddenly Snow is a much more interesting character and everything they do with him is perfect. The only thing I dislike about this part of the film is the Katniss thing, like yeah I guess it makes sense but it’s also kinda dumb.
]]>60% of this franchise is one of my favourite trilogies of all time, brilliantly exploring ideas of Freedom, social expectations, change and death. I will always love the Pirates Trilogy and I’d even argue it might be the best non-lord of the rings trilogy I’ve ever seen. Jack sparrow, Elizabeth Swann, Davy Jones, Hector Barbossa, Will Turner, Bill Turner, James Norrington, Cutler Beckett and so many more characters are brilliant and manage to represent so many of the themes and ideas perfectly. It’s beautifully directed, phenomenally written, brilliantly acted and has one of my favourite scores in history.
So why I am not giving 4.5 or 5 Stars?
Well the thing is this is 60% amazing and then there’s 40% of bad. I don’t mind on Stranger Tides. It’s not a good movie, not by a long shot, but I don’t mind it. It doesn’t actively degrade the trilogy and it doesn’t ruin any of the characters. It’s a film that has lots of problems(I.E the protagonist, Jack, not even caring about the goal, the fountain of youth) but I am perfectly happy to just ignore or overlook this film to praise the trilogy.
The same cannot be said for Dead Salazar’s man tell no revenge tales. That movie genuinely infuriates me and while it’s not completely devoid of quality and there’s some good stuff here, it’s probably my least favourite film I’ve ever seen(Though it’s not quite the worst.) It destroys Jack and Barbossa’s characters, ruins the end of the Trilogy, retcons stuff from the trilogy, has the most generic and boring protagonists you could imagine this series to have, has a villain played by a brilliant actor yet is forced to be a complete joke and a waste of talent
So yeah, if this was the trilogy I’d give it 4.5 or probably 5 stars but unfortunately it’s not so 4 stars it is

Trying to give this a proper rating is really, really hard because like…there’s so much to talk about with this franchise
The First 3 movies are all amazing, the second one especially but the first and third are both fantastic as well. They’re brilliant action movies with some of my favourite character work in cinema. The biggest flaws I can talk about with these movies is probably just that the Jabba plan is kinda stupid and the whole first act of Jedi is kinda irrelevant to the rest of the film and that’s kinda it If I’m honest, they’re just really great movies that aren’t overhyped in the slightest, I’d even argue that ROTJ is underrated considering it has (In my Opinion) the best writing of Vader/Anakin in the entire franchise
…And then we get to the prequels. If you asked me what the most hated movie trilogy of all time was I’d probably say these movies, or divergent. And some of the criticisms are completely valid. The dialogue is (Mostly) Bad and the acting is (Mostly) stilted. The character writing is usually hit or miss, with some characters like Dooku having lots of depth and nuance with not many major errors holding him back as a character and then other characters are completely inconsistent like Pe. If I saw only the first two movies in this trilogy I’d assume instantly that it was on the same level as the sequels because…I mean it pretty much was. And then we get to revenge of the Sith: Now I’m gonna start off by saying this movie is EXTREMELY flawed. The dialogue while improved is not exactly perfect and the acting is mostly good but sometimes not. But the real shining gem here is the writing, specifically the character writing. Anakin in this movie is a much better character than he was previously and feels much more like the “Flawed Hero” the trilogy was supposed to portray him as opposed to the “Pure evil emo murder man” that the previous film portrayed him as. The way they do this is really quite interesting, with him killing off Dooku being essentially the inciting incident of his development in this film, where he has to decide whether to spare the man who took his arm and caused the deaths of billions or execute him without a trial. It’s actually…really good, and the film mostly manages to stay that way. Mace being a foil for Anakin is also really good because it emphasise with him a lot more while also showing us his flaws. The whole thing with him betraying windu is also really damn good and manages to put him a position where he can’t go back. I do think him killing children is stupid though, or at least doing it this soon is. And then we get to the third act which is honestly kinda up there with the original trilogy in my opinion. By this point you’ve gotten used to the kinda clunky dialogue and the acting is actually pretty good, great in a few places actually. The whole movie is kinda goofy but it’s in a way that I really enjoy and it has some genuinely incredible stuff here. So the prequels were kinda good if you forget about attack of the clones.
And then we get to the sequels. Y’know how I said the Prequels are good if you ignore Attack of the clones? Well the sequels are kinda like that but you have to ignore both the second and third movie for it to be a decent trilogy, which obviously causing some massive problems. Force Awakens is a fun but flawed movie that is good as a standalone but as the start of a trilogy it’s…not that. It’s a very charming movie and while I do have my fair share of problems with it(Constant Bathos lowering the stakes, Rey defeating Kylo the first time for both logical and stake reasons, Han’s character being assassinated and his arc being ignored, ect) I can still have a lot of fun with it and there is some stuff that is genuinely really good, like the opening is basically perfect up to the point where Poe makes a crappy joke and even after that the movie is mostly good. Rey doesn’t become a poorly written character until the following movies and in this movie she’s actually a decent protagonist with interesting characterisation though there are still some early problems like with her instantly mastering the force and being able to fly the falcon with ease despite apparently never leaving Jakku. And obviously what they do with Han in this movie is bad and my biggest problem with it, since he basically reverts back to his pre-Empire personality and I have a lot of problems with that considering the fact it makes his arc and transformation(One of the best parts of the OT) essentially null. But honestly, I like this movie and as long as you don’t think too hard about it, it’s pretty good. Also the editing and directing is really good and JJ both deserves credit for this and also deserves blame for TROS. Now we get to The Last Jedi. I’m gonna start with the positives because this movie is actually quite mixed in my humble opinion. The Cinematography here is genuinely masterful, this is the best star wars has ever looked and so many shots look so incredible. I also adore how stylised the movie is, Snoke’s throne room and Crait are the best examples of this with them being incredible set pieces. I also do like some of the themes presented here, even if they’re mostly not well executed, and Luke’s arc is pretty decent and definitely the best part of the film. Also I really like the Yoda scene Idc. Now onto the bad stuff. The plot of this movie is utterly nonsensical with them trying to outrun the First order at an extremely slow pace while the first order ‘tracks them through hyperspace’ and they supposedly have no way to escape but to get to crait. Except actually they do; y’see Finn and Rose manage to leave the ship on tiny pods and the first order literally takes no acknowledgement of it so like…why can’t they just keep doing that until there’s no one left on the ship? They try this later and it fails but that seems to solely be because of Alfrid Lickspittle and not because they were right in front of them so clearly the First order can’t see if they escape without someone telling them they are so why don’t they? Or if you don’t wanna do that why not just get Finn and Rose to go on a ship over to one of their allies’s base? Unfortunately the fact that they do neither of these leads to the worst part of the movie being Finn and Rose going to a casino and working with Grima Wormtongue to try and break the first order’s code. They also free animals but not the slaves there so I guess that happened. Then it turns out
The Collector actually wasn’t a very nice person and betrayed them and so half of the resistance dies and Fredo gets away. The other none luke half of this movie is pretty bad for reasons people have already talked so I’ll just simplify it: Holdo’s plan is stupid and her not telling anyone her plan is stupider. I could probably go on with reasons why this movie is bad but honestly you’ve probably heard literally every possible reason for this movie’s failure that you could make so I just don’t see the point. TROS is worse than this movie significantly but I genuinely don’t want to talk about it because every bad about this movie is something anyone can notice first watch.
All in all, this franchise is 4/9 actually great or really good, 2/9 decent/mixed and 3/9 Bad so I guess that rounds out to it being pretty good.
Also Rogue One is really good and Solo is underrated, the clone wars movie shouldn’t exist.

Well, I did it, after 6 seasons I finished one of the most amazing shows I’ve ever seen
It’s not perfect, it’s flawed, it’s corny and some of the time it seems like they don’t know what they’re doing but goddamnitt when this show peaks it peaks
All of the characters here are amazing (Except For Boone and some others), nearly every season finale is amazing and while Season 4 and 5 definitely drop off Season 6 ends up rounding out the show perfectly

Red dead Redemption (Good ending)
]]>The clearest proof that Blockbusters can be fun and masterfully written
This is a movie that I’ve always considered as brilliant but never been quite able to put it into words but I think I can now: It’s a film about freedom, and more than that it’s about being who you want to be, no matter of society’s expectations.
The most clear example of this message is in Jack Sparrow. Who, no matter how much Disney tries to destroy him, is the quintessential anti-hero. He’s a man who enjoys all the pleasures of life because he doesn’t let Society’s expectations of him trap him and is in every sense truly free.
Now enter Elizabeth, one of the best examples of feminism in Hollywood and I’ll explain why. She’s fallen into the trap that Jack fears most, being that she’s trapped by societal pressures. She doesn’t want to marry Commodore Norrington but she’s expected to. Even the corset is a metaphor for how she’s trapped, but then Jack frees her and shows her what it’s like to be truly free, leading to her ending decision to marry Will despite what her father expects of her.
Speaking of Will, he’s also quite good just not really as complex or interesting as Jack or Elizabeth (In this movie at least.) He goes on a classic hero’s journey just with a few unique twists with it. He starts out as a blacksmith who wants to be with Elizabeth, but because he is just a blacksmith and not a Commodore like Norrington he never really gets the chance. Then of course he meets Jack, who’s willing to go after Elizabeth even when Norrington is refusing to take necessary action because of the law. Jack teaches him about his Father and they do a great job at showing Will developing a respect for Jack’s way of life and even desiring it, all culminating in the moment at the end where Elizabeth says that Will is a pirate.
Before I get onto the other stellar aspects of the film, I’d just quickly like to talk about Barbossa. Barbossa is a character who’s fairly popular within the Pirates fanbase but in of his presence as a villain many people just see him as “The Villain before Davy Jones.” While Davy Jones is excellent and probably a lot better written and acted than Barbossa overall, this shouldn’t take away from Barbossa in the slightest. Barbossa is a man who in a sense represents everything Jack despises. He’s a man who let his desire for power trap him, to the point where he can no longer feel the wind on his face or what an apple tastes like, he can’t feel anything. He got to this point by betraying his best friend and abusing the freedom he had. He was so determined to get more, that he couldn’t realise what he had lost.
Also to briefly mention Norrington, he does a good job at being a foil to Jack, believing basically the opposite of what Jack believes. He’s not a particularly nuanced character in this film and there’s not a whole lot to analyse but I’ll make sure to do an analysis of him once I make a Dead Man’s chest or At World’s end review.
Now let’s talk about the thing that everyone adores with this movie, and the whole franchise, the music. I don’t know much about Music so I’ll make this brief but it’s fantastic. The deliberate similarities between Jack and Barbossa theme are an excellent tie in with the story and obviously the main theme is one of my favourites in cinema, up there with the Indiana Jones and maybe even the Star wars theme.
Another amazing aspect of this film that doesn’t really get discussed much are the visuals. While they’re definitely not as beautiful or incredible as the ones in Dead Man’s chest or At World’s end they’re still incredible with each scene looking beautiful in their own right, mostly due to the lighting and camera positioning.
With all that said, I honestly love this film and I’d probably be up for making another full length review of it even if this doesn’t get that much likes.
Edit: Thanks to everyone who managed to get this film to a 4.0 finally!

The First twenty minutes or so of this is perfect and the last hour of this is perfect but the middle chunk is a lot weaker albeit still great
Also Dr Zaius stands out as one of the most interesting villains of all time, with him being completely right and completely wrong at the same time
]]>I mean don’t get me wrong, this is flawed and so pretentious but like, I also think it’s kinda brilliant in a stupid way?
The message isn’t exactly anything subtle, it’s about enjoying life, it’s about the fact that ultimately nothing lasts forever and so you should make the most of your short life as you can,
The protagonist is somewhat contrary to this belief, he asks questions about everything, and seems to not understand this at the start, and then he meets the secondary main character of the short film(aka his love interest) who kinda changes his perspective on this in an interesting way
It’s quite a layered short film so I can’t really say I’ve thought about everything in it just yet but those are just my basic thoughts surrounding the themes and plot
In of Filmmaking….eh?
It does feel like a tik-tok movie and the dialogue is either kinda exceptional or terrible and there’s basically no in-between
All in all though…I thought it was pretty great, and maybe I’ve just not thought about it hard enough but I think it’s quite brilliant at tackling the ideas of the meaning life, loss, death and just having fun with the time you have

Quite a brilliant documentary, undertale is one of my favourite video games of all time, and many, many, many people feel the same, which caused the fandom to end up eating itself, making a small, fun and well written but simplistic indie game into one of the most famous games of all time, rivalling even that of GTA or Minecraft, and honestly, it does deserve it, but I do feel bad for Toby Fox, hell, I feel bad for the people who made the original fanart that made Underfell, Underswap and so many others; being a great artist is a hard task on its own, but becoming a famous artist can change your life, for better or worse, and can change the world, for better or worse
With all that said, Great Art, truly great art can help people for the better, I certainly know Undertale did that for a lot of people

Fine enough movie with a fine arc for its main character and a fine but predictable and corny plot
]]>Such an Emotionally gutting movie, I originally didn’t think this was as good as Spirited away but after so critical thinking I kinda think it might be better tbh(Not gonna rewatch anytime soon to find out tho, that would be too heartbreaking)
]]>Okay but why is Perrito genuinely a great character and tie in with the theme? Like this character who could’ve just been jar jar binks ended up being hilariously tragic AND well written

Finally got a chance to watch this
I’m gonna start off by saying this is not the best film of all time nor a perfect movie Imo, and I’ll just get the reasons why out the way first;
The Dialogue is a bit hit or miss(Though I’d assume some of that is the subtitles being translated poorly.) Some of the writing choices are also a bit questionable, like only revealing the existence of Zeniba in the last 40 minutes and the pacing is a little off(tho that might be a me problem), I also don’t think Haku and Chihiro have much chemistry imo.
Now onto the positives
I’m gonna start with my absolute favourite aspect of this film which is the score. The music in this is quite possibly my favourite in film history, possibly even better than Revenge of the Sith and Pirates of the Caribbean 2. The Music makes every scene 100x better than it would’ve been otherwise and sometimes the scenes without music are still genuinely moving because of the ambience. I also adore the message of this film about how you should be yourself and keep your identity even if people judge you.
Chihiro’s parents ate the food and turned into pigs, indistinguishable from what was likely other people who let their greed consume them and take away their identity. Chihiro, however, doesn’t take the food which makes her stand out; she’s the only human in the bathhouse and many people judge her for it. When she meets Yubaba, Yubaba starts off by calling her weak and worthless and then tries to turn take her identity away from her by taking her name, and it almost works before Haku reminds her of her name. This is genius writing as Haku was in almost the exact same situation, except he didn’t have someone else to help him, and now he sees someone in the same situation, losing themselves to fit in, and some Haku takes action against it. Haku also shows Chihiro where her parents are, and while they are almost exactly the same as the other pigs, she can still somewhat recognise them. As she continues to work at the bathhouse she starts to have dreams that she won’t recognise her parents, yet at the end of the movie when Yubaba asks her to find her parents out of the drove, she still recognises her parents and so knows they aren’t there. Yubaba and No Face help reinforce this theme, with No Face being transparent and literally being called No face and Yubaba has a twin sister who looks identical to her. Chihiro could judge Zeniba and No Face by simply how they look, like how the bathhouse did, and yet she doesn’t.
Another fantastic part of the movie is the animation, which is obviously beautiful and this film would not be half as good as it is if it was live action(This is directed at you, Netlfix.)
I could go on about every that makes this movie great but this review would probably be waaaaaay too long and so I think it’s best to leave it there. Damn Great movie, can’t wait to watch grave of the fireflies sometime
]]>Feels a bit like the producers just learned the F-Word and want to show it off but then again Ford is the most epic character in the history of cinema
]]>Very close to being actually good, the biggest problem is probably the weak screenplay, as if the dialogue, pacing and overall series of events was better then it could’ve genuinely been something and there’s a lot of proof of this in the quieter scenes
]]>Okay I didn’t get a chance to rewatch this but I just noticed that the poster is made up of a million tiny pictures of Truman and that’s so cool so yeah

Season 2:
Ah Arcane Season 2, I originally gave this a 9/10 on Serialzd when it came out but overtime my rating has vastly changed, for better or worse.
Let’s start with the positives:
The Animation here is some of the best I’ve ever seen, even better than season 1 and Spiderverse. The Music here is also top tier and I regularly listen to songs like The Line(Twenty One Pilots), Me(D4VD) and Sucker(Marcus King) while I’m at the Gym, going for walks or just in general because of how genuinely flawless the soundtrack of this season is. The Voice acting is still top notch and while none of it really stands out as much as during season one it is still excellent. In of Writing there’s also a lot of positives; the Viktor storyline is very well done and the conclusion of his and Jayce’s Arc was easily the best part of the finale. Ekko’s Storyline is also quite good this season with him having to choose between a perfect universe where he has everything or to try and save his own universe. While I am a bit confused how this connected with Ekko’s character as it’s not like it challenged his beliefs about staying in the present in any way it was still executed quite well so I don’t mind all that much though I do suppose it does kinda work because it’s showing Ekko what the world could’ve been like had the past been different and that is kinda relevant albeit to get to that conclusion you do have to bend over backwards a bit. I also thought that Singed’s story was pretty good as long as you don’t think too hard about how stupid his plan is. Also I thought Vander’s story was somewhat solid(Mostly) and up until Arc 3 I didn’t have that much problems with it(Tho Act 2 did present a few problems with him and Silco knowing Vi and Powder before the Battle at the Bridge, making Silco’s reasoning for trying to kill Vi and Powder extremely confusing if he was best friends with their mum.) Also Act 1 is consistently great and Ambessa is a pretty great villain.
Now onto the Negatives:
The actions of the characters here are extremely confusing. Singed’s plan makes no sense because it could have easily failed in any way as if his plan was to be captured at the Zaun Protest, arrested and then get Warwick’s attack to proof why he would be a useful asset for Ambessa and why she should give him the technology to save his daughter then there’s some pretty obvious problems easily; What if Warwick had killed Ambessa during the Warwick attack? Or what if instead of deciding he was useful Ambessa decided to execute Singed for Treason? Why go to all of these risks when he could’ve just gone to Viktor (His former Student, mind you) and got Viktor to save his daughter? This is all assuming Singed’s actions were apart of some plan and wasn’t just because the plot required it. There’s a lot of examples of this kind of Filoni writing where the story isn’t character driven but plot driven, and if you try to find a way in which it is character driven then it either makes the characters themselves stupid or it’s just impossible to see why they’re doing anything they’re doing
Another big problem is that most of the important plot points happen off screen. The Story starts off focusing obviously on the two main focuses of Season 1; Zaun vs Piltover and Vi vs Jinx yet by Act 2 Jinx and Vi’s conflict is basically fully resolved and Zaun deciding to help Piltover and stop the war happens off screen. Caitlyn deciding to let bygones be bygones with Jinx also happens off screen despite that being her entire motivation during Act 1 and Act 2 did little to show her begin to forgive Jinx. We also barely see any of the effect of Jinx being injected with Shimmer with it just being used to make the fight scenes cooler.
Overall there’s a lot more positives and negatives I could say but I wanna try and wrap this up now so here’s my final thoughts; This is a beautiful but also extremely flawed season of television which I would probably give a 6 or a 7/10 on rewatch, despite this I still love Arcane and I don’t think Season 2 was flawed enough to make me lower the overall show rating on Serialzd by more than half a star

Guess I can use this to review the show?
Season 1:
Absolutely phenomenal Television and quite possibly my favourite season of TV(Though I’m more of a movies guy so take that with a grain of salt), every episode of Season 1 is a 9/10 or above, with not one, but TWO episodes of Television that make it into my top 10,
The Voice acting is also phenomenal with the stand-out performances being Mia Sinclair Jenness(Young Powder), Ella Purnell(Jinx), Jason Spisak(Silco) and also the entire rest of the cast which ranges from good to astonishing, the writing with characters like Silco, Jinx, Vi, Vander, Ekko, Heimerdinger, Caitlyn, Mel, Singed, Viktor, Ambessa, Jayce and hell even Marcus and Benzo is brilliant, there’s not a single poorly or inconsistently written character in the season and the plot happens because of the characters and not just including them, every action has a reaction and develops the show further and it makes for one of the best television experiences I’ve ever had, up there with ATLA and Better Call Saul,
I’ll post my season 2 review soon but check my serialzd for more thoughts
