"There is no-one in this room who can stand against me!"

I said this before coming in and I stand by it, in the future, when this is considered one of the all time greats along with the Godfather, Shawshank and 2001, I will proudly be able to say that I saw this in the cinema when it was released.

Never before have 3 hours flown by as they did just then, the entire movie was an adrenaline rush, everything about it excited me to the point where I didn't realise how tightly my arm was gripped around my friend.

I said it at the start of the year and I'll say it again that 2024 is the year that the blockbuster will return, Dune 2, Godzilla Vs Kong, Furiosa all of these movies have so much potential and so far the one that we have been blessed to see already is easily one of the greatest films of all time.

The cinematography was on par with that of Kubrick, the camerawork was spectacular and the wide shots of the vast open desert may be some of the most jaw dropping, beautiful images ever put to screen. The one part of the cinematography that stood out from the rest was the colloseum, the black and white was perfect.

Timothée Chalamet (as Villeneuve has being a director) claimed his place as one of the greatest actors of our time, some of the most powerful scenes were those in which he didn't say anything at all. Such as when he was in all black and before he entered the big meeting with all the Fremen leaders, how he managed to part the crowds of people like Moses, it showed how he really had control over all the people.

Timothée wasn't the only actor pouring their heart out in this movie, David Bautista was incredible and his character struck so much fear into my heart same as Austin Butler both showing how evil the Harkonnens are. The writing only helped these performances and Villeneuve hopefully has the talent to give us more of this gold in the third and final installment in the trilogy.

Overall I would like to say that if you said to me that this was the greatest film of all time I would not argue with you because I agree. You can call it recency bias but I am confident that in 50, 60, 70 years it will remain as one of the most monumental and influential films of all time. Who would have thought that a blockbuster action movie would become one of the all time greats. This changes everything, blockbuster movies don't have to be crappy, studio controlled, franchise movies they can be great and this movie isnt just great it is the greatest.
